Most people experience difficulties early on in their life, and it's depicted here. I felt connected to the characters and the story. I empathized with many of the characters, since they all were three dimensional and complex.

When we are going through these hard times, we need connection with other humans to help us get through. This was beautifully depicted in this film.

This film is very emotional and not for the faint of heart because it is intense. But it is very powerful.

I've seen it at a festival and rewatched at theatrical release. Because the film is so layered, you see new things with each viewing.

We learn a lot about humanity in this film. It's a very well made film in all aspects. A must see.

Across the board the acting in this film is raw, visceral, and so intense. They do not hold back! I was really wowed by the multi dimensional character Gordy, and loved the comic timing of Standrick. In a way they represent the dark themes of the story and the splashes of funny humor to cleanse the pallet.

This is a very cathartic film. I wasn't prepared to dig into something this deep, but I got sucked in quickly and I'm glad I happened upon it. It's not an easy watch, but I'll be rewatching it because I feel like there are a lot of subtle things I missed that will add even more layers to the film.

I've seen this film twice now, on the festival circuit and in its new theatrical release, and both times it was deeply engaging. The ensemble cast is universally strong, and each character evokes profound levels of compassion. The story is a valuable guide for any of us who feel like we've struggled to survive something. The lead actress gives a powerful performance as a character striving for independence as she learns to accept help from her found family. And the antagonist is equal parts frightening and shockingly sympathetic. It's very impressive how the filmmakers infused so much tenderness and warmth into such a fast-paced intense story. This kind of daring, boot-straps indie filmmaking deserves a lot more attention. Don't miss it!

I was very surprised when I came across this film, and even more impressed when I heard it was a first time director.

The editing is quick, but the narrative remains grounded in the complex characters. I could see they were all messy, which I like. I hate when movies have one note characters. I like when the good guys/girls are a little bad and the bad guys/girls are a little good. It's real life!

The acting was top notch and the story and performances had me holding my breath in multiple moments and I never knew what was going to happen next. Looking forward to seeing what this director does next. Surprising.

I haven't seen a film that took me on an emotional journey like this in a long time. I was terrified, I was laughing, I was crying, and then I did it all over and over again.

It was super suspenseful. I found myself holding my breath for long moments and gripping the edge of my seat.

Some serious incredible acting by the leads and entire ensemble. Really believable relatable characters and I found myself rooting for all of them.

Cinematography, lighting, wardrobe, editing, music, sound, really all the departments crushed it. And who doesn't love a flying squirrel? I want one now!

I'll be looking out for what this director and team do next.
