But... Unfortunately I didn't and stuck around for the remaining 59 minutes.
Ready To Die is a classic Notorious BIG album, but Ready 2 Die (with a oh so clever change from the word 'to' to the number 2 instead, to signify this movie is 'hood' if there was any doubters who'd think otherwise, because that's how they do it in the hood, spell words wrong and type numbers that could replace words etc) will never become a classic... Anything... Not even a classic Asylum movie.
TBH, I don't think Asylum actually financed this movie cause it feels and looks really low budget, and considering how low budget Asylum's usual movies are you know how ridiculously low budget this must be right?
I think it's safe to say that they spend more money on getting a cool poster than they did on (trying but failing) to make a cool movie.
The movie is basically a deadly game of hide and seek about a group of robbers trying to hide with their new found wealth from gang-bangers with guns trying to steal their riches (how dare they?) and cops with arrest- warrants.
That might sound like fun, but it really isn't, and the acting is terrible, sure the actors might look the part with most of the cast playing moral-free latino gang-bangers, some to the point where I wonder if they didn't hire real gang-bangers in some of the roles... Cause they sure enough didn't hire real actors.
Fun fact: the f-word is used 187 times... per scene.
I mean I've seen Noel G in other movies where he was alright but not in this one though.
Yeah don't waste your time with this one, it's not worth it.
To paraphrase Jay-Z: "Like I told you to watch Ready 2 Die, No... Hov did that, so hopefully you don't have to go through that"

Any of the high rating reviews, must have come from people who were extremely high or agoraphobic. Believe me, this waste of time is absolutely dreadful. The acting is not the worst I've seen, but everything else about this production is. The direction and the editing are like it was done by high school students in the audio/visual lab. Man it's bad, but not much worse than anything else from Asylum. 🤢

This film has no redeeming features. The acting, script, music, cinematography, story, direction, editing, lighting, special effects, even the tattoos are rotten. The worst film I've seen in ages. An embarrassment to everyone involved. Excruciating to watch.

If it wasn't for, agreed, the cool-looking getaway car Ready 2 Die would have had no redeeming values at all. It could have been fun if done right, in the end it just ended up being unpleasant and ineptly done. The scenery and lighting look dull and the effects are cheesy and rather amateurish, but the camera work and editing do them no favours. In fact, the movie's visual look was one of its biggest flaws, it is shot so cheaply and in such a rushed way that it is enough to make one feel nauseous. The dialogue is riddled with clichés, doesn't even try to make sense and is horrendously stilted, the constant joking at horrible things like shooting people in the face were I feel in very bad taste. The story and characters are a huge issue as well. The story has no fun, excitement, suspense, momentum or any sense of danger, instead it's plodding, predictable and tasteless with very little happening in the storytelling, events that you can smell a mile off and the joking that makes you hate the characters more. The characters are incredibly shallow and you never get to know or identify with them, instead they are very obnoxious and have no redeeming qualities(no humanity at all seemingly) at all basically. They are also so similar that even figuring out who is who and who's the main one is difficult. The acting are a painful mix of annoying over-acting and some not even trying, it's not worth bothering naming standouts because there's not a single good performance among the cast. You know that's something wrong when the getaway car upstages the lot of them. The direction is on par with the camera work in ineptness, particularly in the action scenes which are incoherent and lacking in pretty much everything. The music is at best forgettable and is often repetitive and overbearing. All in all, apart from the car there is next to nothing good about Ready 2 Die, there are worse movies around, but that is no consolation and certainly no excuse for this level of badness. 2/10 Bethany Cox

Worst movie I've seen in ages. High School kids could have done a better job filming this in my opinion. The film looked like it was shot on a fifty dollar budget. I had a house full of people that wanted to burn the movie after the first twenty minutes. I couldn't help but semi watch it to the end do to the fact it was like an accident, You couldn't look away. The video was choppy and the special affects were nothing less than school kid antics. How anyone could even market this film is beyond me but it obviously caught someone's attention. It has the usual makings of a action film, sex, violence, murder and car chases and it still didn't meet my expectations or the expectations of my peers. Im really having a hard time summing this one up but don't take my word for it give it a look for yourself.

The first thing that strikes me about Ready 2 Die is how well director John Azpilicueta utilizes limited resources and makes this feel like it had a much bigger budget than it probably did. The cinematographer in particular places you right in the action, as if you're a character in the film getting pulled through the action. This documentary feel was a smart choice for the story, as it ups the intensity, especially in the action scenes (which include one of the best car chase sequences I've seen in a long time). Not all of the acting is top notch, and there are some sound problems that would prevent this film from landing a perfect score, but there's enough good about it that it ranks as "very good- excellent" and is more than worth the watch.

So I saw a decent rating on this film om IMDb and thought to myself "Hey, it is only 80 minutes long and sounds interesting...why not?" HUGE MISTAKE!!!! This movie has so many Grand Theft Auto clichés that I truly think the writers of the movie/script played the game while coming up with material. Stereotypical thugs rob banks and flee from the police but at no time do they seem to be worried/threatened. Word gets out about the money they have. The dialogue is BEYOND horrible. Junior high kids talk about better things. Shot on a low budget with low expectations.
The only reason why it gets a 2 is because the getaway car is pretty cool. The camera work sucks The acting looks worse than a junior high school play. They did manage to have a few explosions but even those looked cheezy.
At no point in time do you feel any sympathy for the "good guys" (use that term loosely, after all, they brag about shooting innocent women). I found myself hoping they would get killed just so it would be OVER! After 60 minutes of watching, I literally was laughing at how horrible the plot was and why the hell I was still watching. If you make it that far, you deserve some kind of award.
AVOID!

Crime movies about bank robbery's are probably one of my favourite to watch so when I watched the trailer for Ready 2 Die I put it on my to watch list and got a copy the following weekend.
Right from the start I found the action scenes to be exciting a gang of misfits in the process of a bank robbery that goes wrong as a viewer you are put straight into the action but at the same time we start to understand the background of the characters and how this situation evolved.
I can't say to much about what happens next as I don't want to spoil the plot for anyone but you won't be disappointed it has guns, fast cars, police chases, sexy women, money and murder to keep you entertained.
For a low budget film it's put together very well, the actors gave a credible, convincing performance I especially enjoyed Bless May's performance and think he has a good chance of furthering his career if he keeps making decent films. But the biggest credit has to be to the director and writer John Azpilicueta putting together this movie must have been a challenge and he pulled it off I hope he is given some bigger projects in the future and I look forward to watching his next piece of work.

I caught this movie on Netflix the other night and decided to write a review after thinking about it for a few days. I am always interested in films that take place in the hood and the cover caught my eye.
Obviously this is a small budget film and some of the special effects leave something to be desired. However, the actors do a good job in their respective roles. The pacing is a bit uneven and lags at times but overall the action sequences are pretty solid.
I liked the stylized, gritty look of the film it kind of reminds me of the look of "Man On Fire" only on a smaller budget.
Not to give too much of the plot a way, the story is about a group of friends, some ex-military, who decide to rob a bank. The film uses flashbacks to establish the backstory of each character to explain what got them to this point in their lives.
If you are in to "urban gangster" films this one should be in your library.

All I can say is this: I was in the movie for a couple scenes as an extra. And it took several months for them to edit and finally actually produced the movie. When I saw the movie at the premiere I was disappointed how it came out. But it was fun to be in it. The film was shot in the streets of Los Angeles. And some of the scenes required the use of a cinematographer and a helicopter. Personally, I believe the movie could've been better if they would've spent more time editing it. And the camera was not the greatest that was used for filming. I knew some of the people that were in the movie. When we saw the screening I must say that I was disappointed because the scene that I was in I feel that that was a good scene and we rehearsed it many times. And I think that that scene was actually good, but it was filmed outside. A lot of the Filming that was done inside the lighting was off and the editing was not seamless at all. From production standpoint you can see that many of the scenes are not chronological in nature and tend to jump around. The dialogue was overstated and the story was somewhat vague.

Imagine being so desperate for people to like your awful low budget pic that you had friends, family, shills write positive reviews. Then you use this posse to prop up these lies and downvote "bad" reviews that spout the truth. This is the case with 'Ready 2 Die' here.
There's four top reviews with over a 100 positive votes each and three of them saw, wrote about this obscure flick within a month of it coming out. None see it as any less than a 7/10. I don't think so. Thankfully a lot of real people came along and rated this accordingly.
'Ready 2 Die' is a cheap, bad vanity project from John Azpilicueta. Who produced, wrote, directed and stars. Its neither artistic, funny or cool. I'm not going to dignify this garbage by talking about the story. There are two known faces in the cast, Noel G & Bridgette B. One is a Latino character actor who's appeared in some good crime / hood movies of this type and the other is an attractive lady who takes her clothes off for a living. They only pop up briefly and needless to say this isn't their finest hour.
I suspect John Azpilicueta is either a narcissistic or the saddest person alive. His 'The Neighborhood' has a good rating but no reviews here at IMDb and I can't find any elsewhere on the internet. His first produced movie 'The Wounded' has a solid 7.0 rating from hundreds of "people". I've never seen this level of pathetic self promotion before.

I watched this movie with my brother, and because we are both fans of the action genre, we know to be very difficult audience to please. "Ready 2 Die" proved worthy of our Friday evening time.
This is an edge of your seat action-thriller, that hits fast gear with its first scenes and never slows down. I won't reveal much of the plot, the storyline is decent for an action movie, but nothing too special. What makes the movie original is having a feeling like watching a documentary in a dangerous neighborhood of LA.
The characters in "Ready 2 Die" are believable and young crew did a great job acting very well. In addition to their performance, there are three other big elements that make this a cool action flick: good music, incredible gunfight sequences and hot chicks.
I enjoyed this movie and highly recommend it. I give it a 8/10 !

I was looking for a new crime filled movie (lets admit it gangster flicks are always a blast) when I stumbled across Ready 2 Die. The plot is pretty straight forward with a bank robbery gone wrong as they are trying to get somewhere safe after stealing quite a load of money. Of course the cops are after them as you would expect but to top that off they also have to avoid rival gang members who want the money for themselves. The characters within aren't people you are going to necessarily like but if you love to watch people getting away with (quite literally) murder this is a joyride you aren't going to want to get off of.
The plot is a pretty standard robbery flick with a low budget but but the action really stood out as gritty and fun. Honestly the budget is what hurt this film as if the filmmakers had more to put into the effects I really could see this as something that could stand out. As it is if you are in the mood for some pure violent fun this one would be worth your time!
