Harina, El Teniente vs El Cancelador

Great cast and great writing! Such a refreshing Mexican production. This series has comedy (lots of it), drama, action, a great plot with insane twists. The lower than usual budget (for such a popular show) is noticeable but If this show had the budget of american series, I really believe it has the potential to be one of the best series out there today. The fact that this is a spin off from a 2 minute sketch makes it even more impressive. The writers did an outstanding job, the plot is solid and the way they can add comedy in the right places without breaking the tension of the thriller genre is top notch. Can't wait for a 3rd season!

Nothing better than good acting, scenes and comedy mixed in one. The main character is refreshing and hilarious without going over the top. I really enjoyed this series and i hope more like it are introduced. I binged watched this i just could not stop myself. Well done!

Maybe I was not expecting much, but "Harina" surprised me since the first minutes of episode one. I was familiar with the original sketch which originated the whole show, but did not imagine that I would get something so funny, yet touching and sometimes even scary! The writing of the show is amazing and way better than most that are produced in Latin America. Cast, photography, direction are top notch! If you like good TV, you will love this show!

This is an amusing modern series from Mexico. It starts off quite promising but by the 4th episode, the story starts to falter and it really becomes absurd. The humor is satirical at times but becomes more slapstick towards the end. The sound is pretty terrible, and sometimes the background music prevents the actors voices from being heard. The comedy is really not very clever, but is more at the level of a poorly done American sitcom. Might have been better if they had taken more time to make the writing a bit more satirical. So, while it does have a promising start, it unfortunately runs out of steam at the end.

This show was based on the most popular sketch ever in Mexico. The writers of the show did an impressive job creating a whole world out of these 3 minutes where we were first introduced to the "Teniente Prieto".

Harina never loses its steam and has it all: comedy, absurdity, action, suspense, and, for my surprise, drama. Usually, comedies like this one suffer from lacking a good storyline relying too much only on the jokes (believe me there are plenty of jokes in here) and losing sight of the character's emotions and arcs. Harina does a great job in both ways: character and plot, comedy and drama.

Highly recommend this show. Hands down one of the best things I've seen lately. A knockout!
