A sequel to Steve Cutts' 2012 animated short Man, this early pandemic-era production shows what happens when humans are quarantined. The animals and trees-largely the same characters from the original-dance with joy in the absence of people... until the quarantine ends.
The short is set to Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King", a piece often used in cartoons to accompany sneaky, mischievous animals and growing chaos-much like what we see here.
While the original Man was stronger overall, I'm glad Cutts created this humorous sequel. It felt perfectly on point during the pandemic. Sadly, it seems humans have since returned to their old habits.
