I like the art and style of the game. The backgrounds are amazing and I like the story of the game. I love all the Paper Mario series. From the first game to this right now. There were funny moments in the game that I laughed at. However, the puzzles and timer in an enemy and boss battle complicate things. It's still a fun game to play except for the puzzles in a battle. Intelligent Systems wanted to make it challenging but what I noticed is that the game went too far with the puzzles. I hope in the future that a new Paper Mario game won't have any puzzles in a battle. Make it a simple straightforward battle. Anyway, the game is still fun to enjoy playing.

A Stunning, Emotional, and Hilarious Reinvention of the Paper Mario Formula
"Paper Mario: The Origami King" is a triumph-not just for fans of the series, but for Nintendo storytelling, charm, and creativity at large. It might not return to the turn-based RPG roots of the N64 and Thousand-Year Door, but it carves out its own identity with heart, humor, and one of the most visually striking Mario adventures ever made.
A World Folded in Beauty and Imagination
Visually, Origami King is breathtaking. The vibrant, layered environments-from lush meadows to spooky mansions, to towering origami castles-pop with style and inventiveness. Every area feels handcrafted, and exploring the world becomes a pure joy. The paper and origami aesthetic is more than a gimmick-it's an immersive part of the game's identity.
Characters That Matter - and a Plot That Surprises
At its heart is a genuinely emotional story. Olivia, your origami companion, is instantly lovable and provides constant joy (and surprising depth). The villain, King Olly, isn't just some forgettable baddie-he has a meaningful backstory and emotional weight that adds richness to the journey. The supporting characters (including the Bob-omb storyline that hits HARD) elevate this game beyond typical Mario fare.
The Combat: A New Spin on Strategy
The ring-based puzzle combat system drew criticism early on, but in practice, it offers something fresh, strategic, and rewarding-especially in boss battles, which are among the most creative in the entire franchise. While it may not be the deepest system mechanically, it's fun, fast-paced, and engaging, especially when you get into its rhythm.
Humor, Heart, and That Signature Paper Mario Wit
Nintendo's localization team brought their A-game here-The Origami King is consistently hilarious, filled with meta jokes, clever writing, and genuinely touching moments. It's a game that will make you laugh one minute and break your heart the next-and few titles can balance those extremes so well.
Final Verdict - 10 out of 10
Paper Mario: The Origami King is a masterpiece of presentation, writing, and tone. It may not be what old-school Paper Mario fans expected, but it's exactly what the franchise needed-a bold evolution that dares to do something different and succeeds on nearly every front.
It's a reminder that great storytelling, brilliant design, and emotional resonance don't need photorealism-just some imagination, paper, and a whole lot of heart.
