Ah this took me back to my physiology class where we learned about leptin through parabiosis of rats.
A Spanish mystery thriller on Netflix where two people got sewn together and had to try to get out of the ordeal.
I'm pretty sure I enjoyed this movie a lot more than the general reviews that I have seen on Letterboxd. When the movie started I could feel pain in my belly. It's such a nasty yet interesting concept that drawn me into the movie. Even though the movie was only a hour, its pacing was quite slow, but this actually kept the intensity high for me. The conversations between the characters were weird at times, but I wasn't bothered that much.
Good concept is one thing, but execution is a different story. This aspect was where I was majorly disappointed. Ugh it's annoying how they butchered the potential. The twist in this movie could have been handled way better to have significantly more impact. For some reason it was like they downplayed the twist. Because of this, the last 20 minutes felt like the director got confused and led to the demise of the movie. My mind could have been blown away like when I watched The Invisible Guest (one of the best Spanish mystery thrillers that is also on Netflix), but I didn't get that, thanks to the lack of direction from the director.
Also, even though I said I wasn't bothered much from the conversations, the characters' behaviors and mindset were confusing and pretty unrealistic.
Overall, this had so so much potential to be a great body horror, but it fell short. That's my two cents. 6/10.

It's so bad it's funny... Half the time they move abs face directions that show their stomachs aren't attached. They lay in the beds on their backs and when they go to stand up you can see the full tummy area 😂 the subtitles are even worse if you're watching English dub they do not match at all!
All things considered, you simply cannot expect much from a film so poorly directed. The entire storyline about two people being stitched together, quickly comes apart when you notice too many times that they aren't actually stitched together. The body positions and angles are impossible to achieve while being stuck together, and the director doesn't exactly cover herself in glory by constantly showing them in shots that reveal they clearly aren't even touching.
Once you're able to get past that, you'll notice it's pretty obvious where the film is headed and nothing other than the potential plot-twists could keep you on the edge of your seat.
Get past that, you'll find that there actually are no plot-twists, it's just a very slow movie (which isn't something you should be able to say about a 70 minute movie). If you're into gory movies, you're likely to keep watching to see what you would expect to be a very bloody movie (two people stitched together, moving around). Unfortunately, it's not that either, the only thing you're likely to enjoy if you're really a fan, is an intimate relationship between two people who shouldn't be having an intimate relationship.
You're better off investing your 70 minutes into watching a different movie, reading a book, or better yet, taking a nap.

Firstly, the two sewn together kept changing position so much it was ridiculous and clear they weren't sewn together. I mean, I know you're not really going to see people together for a film bit they really needed something to make it more believable. At one point he'd behind her, looking out a window, they were lying stomach to stomach in bed, then they are stood side by side. Like you'd be able to move through that much range and not be in agony. Secondly, the reason behind it all is not well done at all. It's so rushed and vague and quite frankly not believable. But if they'd spent more time maybe it could have been made more believable. For me when films are dubbed it's hard to gauge the acting as it's someone else acting it too, with their voice, so abit unfair to judge the actors.
It's a short 70 min movie involving just 2 people who are stiched left/ right side of the abdomen. Even thought it's 70 mins movie is bit slow. There is not much story but it will keep you hooked to know why this was done to them. One time watch.
