I just want to vent a little about Chandramukhi before I say anything about Chandramukhi 2... both directed by P. Vasu. The only good thing to come out of Chandramukhi 2 is the realization that P. Vasu probably had not the slightest clue what Chandramukhi was actually about (as it simply was a remake of a Malayalam movie named Manichitrathazhu), and that he just found himself lucked into a successful movie. Now, I haven't watched the original Malayalam version myself, but I always thought I had a pretty good idea of what it might be.
It has always been my opinion that Chandramukhi is essentially a psychological thriller masquerading as horror, with carefully thought-out characters and conflicts, but only underneath 3-4 layers of P. Vasu's horrible directing. But sure, it was entertaining, so I was willing to give it a pass.
Ignoring the totally unnecessary fight scenes, the 'hearing your every thought' aspect of Rajni's character (which was used for way more than mere comic relief), the flying 50 meters across the living room, the cringe, the melodrama, the cheese, the continuity issues... essentially each and every little point P. Vasu might have added on top of the existing core concept... It was still at the very least entertaining.
Well, Chandramukhi 2 is proof enough to convince you that it was all a fluke. P. Vasu just happened to find a script where all the heavy lifting was already done, and where he need not do anything more but make it worse. Sadly, Chandramukhi 2 doesn't afford him the luxury of a pre-existing script, so the director ends up embarrassing himself on the big screen showing us exactly how he lucked himself into success 18 years ago.
Now onto Chandramukhi 2... You watch the trailer; you know it's bad. You watch the movie; you're surprised it's worse. There isn't a single good thing about this movie (except of course my P. Vasu rant), and it even goes as far as to be insulting to any and all members of its audience.
Raghava Lawrence no longer looks like a real person in his ungodly attempt to be Rajni; from his looks, to body language, to speech patterns... everything screams a cheap fake. The acting was unbelievably poor, the comedy was painful, the storyline was embarrassing, and I'd rather get possessed than to sit through another 150 minutes of a Raghava Lawrence ego trip.
I have also always blamed the filmmakers for these type of horrible movies, but now reading through the only 3 IMDB user reviews as of writing this, it's clear that the blame is also on these absolute braindead low IQ goobers who enable these kind of worthless movies to be made.

Considered as the one of the worst film in Tamil. Is this a sequel? I was bored to complete this film. It took 2 days to finish this film. I was like watching serial. Just wished to finish the film. Such a boring film. This movie destroys the first film. And Vadivelu' s comedy become more worse in this film. I couldn't believe it is the same director who directed the first part. And mainly the VFX, they've used kinemaster for VFX I think. Looks like low poly rendering. I wondered how this film was failure. And main thing, the acting. They were acting like low paid. SLEEPING PILLS. Highly not recommended.
Kangana has become a stale actress with lack of variations in expression or dialogue delivery. The movie is so boring it feels like watching an entire ektaa kapoor soap in one sitting. There is no rhyme or reason to the storyline which keeps dragging on in multiple directions without any logical direction. Dialogues are so childish it seems like kangana improvised every sentence thinking she's making it "better". I would have left after first half if I hadn't fell asleep twice during the movie. I wouldn't watch it even for free on OTT so if anyone has not seen it yet, save your time, money and brain cells!
Comment: Cinema Videography is worst than some cheapskate suntv serials. Storyline extremely miserable. Even the Pre school students can develop an innovative storylines. Director P. Vasu really need to learn how to make movie to entertain customers. Actor Ragawa Laurence should go to acting school to learn some basic acting skills. I hate his performance in the movie. 😤 I don't know what actress Rathiga tried in this movie. The comedy in this movie absolutely irritating. My ears are cried for every songs in this movie. The make up and hairstyle of Ragawa Laurence in this movie is really causing me nausea feeling. I will not watch Ragawa Laurence's upcoming movies anymore. I'll not watch P. Vasu's movie anymore.
While Chandramukhi 1 boasted a meticulously crafted screenplay brimming with entertainment, mystery, and thrills, its sequel, Chandramukhi 2, unfortunately falls short in comparison. In the second installment, the narrative treads a familiar path, rendering everything rather predictable. It fails to deliver the captivating entertainment and spine-tingling thrills that its predecessor offered, often veering towards boredom. The climax, in particular, drags on endlessly, testing the patience of the audience.
Lead actor Lawrence's exaggerated performance proves to be a significant irritant, feeling entirely out of place for the character he portrays. The first half of the film lacks the spark of excitement, only coming to life when the flashback episode unfolds in the second half. On a positive note, Kangana's presence graces the screen with her beauty, and her acting and dance sequences, while decent, lack the impact one would hope for. Some might argue that she doesn't quite fit the character as envisioned.
On the technical front, the cinematography and set design shine, showcasing the visual prowess of the production team. Unfortunately, the songs fail to leave a mark. Moreover, the direction adheres to an outdated style that doesn't align with contemporary storytelling trends.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend watching Chandramukhi 2, either in theaters or on OTT platforms.
