As Bella Ramsey returns for Season 2 of The Last of Us, they’re opening up about their autism diagnosis for the first time.
The Golden Globe nominee, whose HBO show returns on April 13, recently revealed that they discovered their “freeing” diagnosis while filming Season 1 of The Last of Us after a crew member with a neurodivergent child noticed some familiar behaviors.
“I’ve spoken a bit about neurodivergence before, but I always for some reason didn’t want to… I felt like I didn’t want to say what it was… Shoot,” they told British Vogue. “I got diagnosed with autism when I was filming Season 1 of The Last of Us.”
The crew member’s intervention led to Ramsey getting a formal diagnosis following a psychiatric assessment.

During their Consumer Electronics Show (CES) presentation last night, Naughty Dog head Neil Druckmann officially announced that The Last of Us season two will debut this coming April, exclusively on HBO and streaming on Max.
The second season will consist of seven episodes, and while we don't have an exact premiere date just yet, we'd imagine the series returns sometime in mid-April, in the same release window Game of Thrones used to occupy during its run.
Season two will pick up five years after the events of season one, which concluded with Joel (Pedro Pascal) going on a rampage to rescue an unconcious Ellie (Belly Ramsey) from the Fireflies and then, in an effort to protect her, covering up the truth by telling her that making a cure was impossible and that raiders had raided the facility and forced them to flee.

Few cinematic characters have left as big of an impression as Ellen Ripley, Sigourney Weaver’s iconic “Alien” survivor, who led four films in the franchise and left behind some massive shoes to fill for everyone who’s come since. In “Alien: Romulus,” that’s a young cast of franchise newcomers, led by “Priscilla” and “Civil War” star Cailee Spaeny.
Directed by “Don’t Breathe” and “Evil Dead” filmmaker Fede Álvarez, the latest installment heads back between the events of “Alien” and “Aliens,” introducing a young group of friends desperate to escape their grungy mining colony. You will, of course, recognize the Xenomorph — H.R. Giger’s inimitable alien creature — but for everyone else, here’s a handy guide to the “Alien: Romulus” cast and characters.

Police detectives investigating Russell Brand regarding historic allegations of sex crimes have asked prosecutors to consider bringing criminal charges against the media personality, according to BBC.
The decision by law enforcement stems from a September 2023 investigative report by The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 Dispatches, which includes testimony from four women who accused the Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor of sexual assault, rape and emotional abuse across a seven-year period at the height of his fame in 2006-2013. One of the women, none of whom know each other and the majority of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity, was 16 at the time of the offense. While Brand has denied the allegations, the women said they felt compelled to speak up given the former presenter’s newfound platform as a right-wing evangelical influencer, who is currently selling a $240 “magical amulet” that wards off Wi-Fi and other “evil energies.”

With everything going the way it is in the world right now, we’re laughing to keep less cheery emotions at bay. At least this bizarre, still-very-much-in-progress century has already produced a slew of spectacular, silly, snarky, and cynical comedies: ready to fire up whenever you need a serotonin burst or distraction thanks to the ever-growing cadre of streaming services.
The pandemic may be in the rearview for the U.S. federal government, but the specter of war, a tortured economy, and human rights issues across the globe have occupied the minds of many instead. So, in desperate need of some humor, we thought it was more important than ever to give our Greatest Comedies of the 21st Century list, originally published in 2017, yet another rethink. Since the list was originally published, we’ve expanded it to 90 entries, including titles released since then that deserved including and other titles we somehow overlooked the first time.

Ever since Phoebe Waller-River’s Fleabag became a sensation, there have been tons of female-oriented stories being experimented with, with women as the leads giving commentary about their lives to the camera. The breaking of the fourth wall has become the norm in basically every show or movie of this genre. The only good thing about such content is that female-driven stories are on the rise. Catherine Called Birdy and The Good House are examples of stories being told from a female perspective. Queenie, however, is something similar that is based on a young girl in her twenties navigating through trauma and life. Based on the novel of the same name, the miniseries was created for Channel 4 and Hulu by the author Candice Carty-Williams.
Queenie Jenkins is a young social media assistant with a local news website who was in a relationship with Tom, who had begun to have issues with her personality.

Bella Ramsey is opening up about the struggles they faced as a child actor in Hollywood.
The Last of Us star told The Independent, in an interview shared online Saturday, that they “didn’t like the separation” they noticed between kids and adult performers.

Lena Dunham’s new comedy series will be called Too Much, which is currently in production for Netflix, here are the details.
Lena Dunham made her mark as a creative powerhouse early in her career, with the gargantuan success of her comedy drama Girls, which ran for six seasons on HBO between 2012 and 2017.
She then successfully transitioned to feature films, writing and directing Tiny Furniture, Sharp Stick and, most recently, Catherine Called Birdy. She then adapted Julia Davis’ superb dark comedy Camping in America, also for HBO. It ran for a single season in 2018.
Too Much is now the second show Dunham has created, alongside her husband Luis Felber.
The synopsis reads as follows:
Too Much follows Jessica (Megan Stalter), a New York workaholic in her mid-30s who is reeling from a broken relationship that she thought would last forever and slowly isolating everyone she knows. When every block...

While Lena Dunham seems to have found her footing again as a feature director, with 2022’s dual films “Sharp Stick” and “Catherine Called Birdy,” it seems as if the filmmaker is still not done with TV work. You see, even though she had a lengthy break from feature filmmaking, she’s never really left TV since her hit series “Girls” debuted in 2012.

Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy from Lena Dunham, “Too Much,” has added Megan Stalter and Will Sharpe as its lead actors.
The project comes from Dunham and her husband, musician Luis Felber. Development for the series was first announced in July of this year.
The rom-com follows Jessica (Stalter) a New York-based workaholic in her mid-30s who has been slowly isolating herself from her friends and family in the wake of a failed relationship. Haunted by her own love life and past bad decisions, Jessica decides to take a job in London and vows to “live a life of solitude like a Bronte sister,” a press release for the series reads. At least that’s the case until she meets Felix (Sharpe), who is described as “less Hugh Grant in Notting Hill and more Hugh Grant’s drunken roommate.” The two find their connection impossible to ignore, even though...

Lena Dunham and her husband Luis Felber have co-created a romantic comedy series titled “Too Much” for Netflix. Megan Stalter and Will Sharpe are set to star.
“Too Much” follows Jessica (Stalter), a New York workaholic in her mid-30s who is reeling from a broken relationship that she thought would last forever and slowly isolating everyone she knows. When every block in New York tells a story of her own bad behavior, the only solution is to take a job in London, where she plans to live a life of solitude like a Brontë sister. But when she meets Felix (Sharpe) — who is less Hugh Grant in “Notting Hill” and more Hugh Grant’s drunken roommate — she finds that their unusual connection is impossible to ignore, even as it creates more problems than it solves. Now they have to ask themselves: Do Americans and Brits actually speak the same language?...

"The Other Zoey" is a character-driven rom-com with a talented young cast that delivers a convincing love triangle. Director Sara Zandieh infuses a modern perspective into the genre, while the actors bring refreshing energy to familiar roles. Josephine Langford shines as Zoey Miller, and Archie Renaux and Drew Starkey bring depth to their characters, Miles and Zach, respectively.
The Other Zoe is a character-driven rom-com in which the central love triangle is convincingly served to audiences by its roster of young and talented cast members. Unlike most teenage romance movies on streaming platforms, The Other Zoey is not based on a novel. However, it does borrow several themes from existing romance films and even harps on many existing tropes of the rom-com genre to present a highly entertaining love triangle to audiences.

As “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” continues to dominate the box office, one three-screen arthouse movie theater in Milwaukee will also show films starring several of Taylor Swift’s past boyfriends.
Cara Ogburn, artistic director of Oriental Theater overseer Milwaukee Film, brainstormed the idea in response to the requirement that theaters can only show “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” Thursdays through Sundays.
“What if we show all Jake Gyllenhaal movies,” Ogburn, who was interviewed by The New York Times, recalled suggesting initially as a joke. “True counterprogramming.”
Thus next week, the theater will screen “Twilight” starring Taylor Lautner as werewolf Jacob Black, “Dunkirk” featuring Harry Styles formerly of the boyband “One Direction” and now doing just fine on his own as a solo musician and actor, “Crimson Peak” starring Tom Hiddleston before he took on the mantle of the MCU’s Lokie and several Jake Gyllenhaal features — “Zodiac,” “Enemy,” “Nocturnal Animals...

As Greta Gerwig's live-action Barbie movie continues its hot-pink box office bonanza, with plans from doll-maker Mattel already fully in motion for countless more movies, one of the next upcoming projects on the nostalgia-fueled toy train is none other than Polly Pocket. While it was first announced back in 2021, and since the latest and now incredibly successful iteration of Barbie was still in early stages, the movie about the then-most popular mini-doll in the world was considered conceptual at best, particularly with the inclusion of controversial writer and director Lena Dunham. However, per a report from Variety, producer Robbie Brenner has revealed that the script for the film is now complete.

Period pieces are hard to come by because they require high budgets, studios willing to take risks, and every detail to be one hundred percent accurate and authentic. From exact locations to extravagant costumes, dialect training for actors, and props, pulling a period piece off on a shoestring budget is nearly impossible.
With the entertainment industry only starting to be more inclusive and take risks on female directors, only so many female-directed period pieces exist. Many great films come from great books which feature plenty of women leads. When men direct films about women, they tend to lack authenticity. As these movies show, given the opportunity, women directors make great movies and bring a refreshing perspective to the screen.

The cast of Conversations with Friends helped to bring the complex and fascinating Sally Rooney novel to life in a gripping 12-part Hulu miniseries. The story concerns two young college students from Dublin whose lives begin to intertwine with a married couple who has strong ties to the literary world. Mixing elements of romance and drama, Conversations with Friends offered a wide range of emotions that attempted to capture the complex narrative that played out in Rooney's book.
The release of the 2020 Sally Rooney adaptation Normal People proved to be a big hit for Hulu, and the streamer wasted little time in adapting the author's evocative debut novel in a similar fashion. Critics were mostly mixed about Conversations With Friends, with the performances and characters being praised and the overlong and meandering plot being picked apart. Christopher Rosen: Hello, Joyce! It’s Friday and the air quality has returned to normal so what better time than the present to talk about this year’s Emmys drama race? The actress who played Joel’s daughter Sarah in HBO’s The Last of Us doesn’t have a huge filmography yet, but she’s an up-and-coming star with a few recognizable roles. The Last of Us broke HBO viewership records and was universally praised by critics and fans alike as one of the greatest video game adaptations. Although Sarah is killed shortly after the Cordyceps outbreak, she looms large over the series as the source of Joel’s pain. A big part of what made The Last of Us such an instant hit is that Sarah was lovable and endearing from the outset, so the audience felt Joel’s grief when she died so suddenly.
