For westerners, Louis Cha's wuxia stories, especially Condor Heroes Trilogy, are confusing. The same story retold in a 40 - 60 episodes limited run series. The heroes are the same, namely Guo Jing, Yang Guo, and Zhang Wuji.

Guo Jing represents everyday people who work hard but not the smartest. His wife, Huang Rong is very smart, making them a power couple in life.

Yang Guo represents rebellious and creative people. His wife Siaw Lung Nie (Little Dragon Girl) has life experience. They both respected but live a carefree life.

Zhang Wuji represents the leaders and smart people. Despite his hard work, he makes it look easy. His wife is also very smart and cunning.

This 2019 version is very well made and easy to love.

Just finished my second watching of this series. I liked it even more the second time. The first half of the series is a masterpiece. The second half was great but felt a little muddled in certain parts. There are subplots that feel a bit stretched out and tedious, but the show more than makes up for it with the fact that every character is interesting and a lot more than just the main characters have amazing story arcs.

This is one of Jin Yong's (the author of the books) great strengths, inventing a fascinating array of different characters that each take their own journey throughout the story. Rather than feeling like chess pieces used to tell a story, the characters go through changes, they evolve and they fail to evolve. There's a lot of amazing changes the large cast of characters go through. This was captured well in the series.

I gave it a 10, because I thought it was underrated on here. It's really a 9 because the second half wasn't executed as well as it could have been. But it is totally worth it to watch it all the way through and to be able to really appreciate it as a whole. Amazing story and amazing storytelling.

I have watched several versions, the 1986,1994,2003, 2009 and this 2019 adaptations also the 1993 and 2022 movies and I will say that this is the best adaptation of the Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre so far. Jason Zheng as Zhang Wuji is perfect. He is handsome, talented and smart. I know he isn't the perfect leader and have soft spot for women but he is loyal and has a good heart. He will do everything to help everyone around him. Amongst the three great heroes in the Condor Trilogy, Zhang Wuji is my number 1, Yang Guo is second and Guo Jing is third. And special praise for Zhao Min played by Yukee Chen. She is so gorgeous and the perfect Zhao Min. So far I have watched this series three times and I may watch it again in the future.

Hidden gem for sure! This is one of my top 10 Asian tv shows. This is the best martial arts TV shows I have ever watched. Trust me, I have seen a lot of c & k dramas. The actors are amazing, the story is great. There is never a dull moment in any of the episodes I have seen. Please watch and rate this a 10. Anything below a 9 is outrageous. 10/10!
