The Ugly Stepsister, the first horror feature from Emilie Blichfeldt, is set to arrive in theaters on April 18, and the film just got an exciting new look. Collider is thrilled to partner with distributors IFC Films and Shudder to help promote its upcoming premiere by releasing a new poster for the film showing what appears to be a ballet shoe dipped in blood stepping carefully onto the carpet. The upcoming film will see Blichfeldt make her directorial debut after starring in other projects such as Nr. 24 (Sjur Vatne Brean) and Kruppel 16 (Johannes Blumenthal). The Ugly Stepsister is billed as a gorgeously crafted, twisted take on the classic Cinderella story, and it earned strong reviews out of Sundance earlier this year, including from Collider’s own Therese Lacson, who scored the film an 8/10 in her review.

Timed to the Season 1 finale of hit ABC sitcom “Abbott Elementary,” Warner Bros. Television is donating 150,000 meals to Feeding America.

Along with the meal donations, the show’s Think Outside the (Lunch) Box campaign aims to raise awareness about food insecurity with a week-long series on social media encouraging others to support Feeding America. From April 11-15, Warner Bros. TV will partner with influencer chefs Eitan Bernath and Ahmad Alzahbi, who will create lunchbox meals while discussing the impacts of food insecurity.

For every dollar donated to Feeding America, the non-profit provides at least ten meals to families in need through a network of member food banks.

Contenders Film: The Nominees, a one-stop-shop experience featuring a smörgåsbord of Oscar-nominated talent discussing their top-tier projects, kicks off Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. Pt as a virtual event, the latest in Deadline’s rapidly expanding Contenders series. Stars, creatives and craftspeople behind 24 films will take part in moderated panels discussing the roads that led them to the doorstep of the Academy Awards.

If we’ve found a little silver lining to this Covid situation, it’s that it inspired us to stream our Contenders events since the earliest days of the pandemic. And we’ve not only reached a global audience in the comfort of their own homes, but we’ve also found a brave new world in which we screen chats with talent who couldn’t have made it to the stage in person anyway due to their schedules.

Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox have been serving up their Sunday Lunch cover series on YouTube for over a year, and for their latest effort the pair has unleashed a raucous version of Smashing Pumpkins’ “Bullet With Butterfly Wings.”

In the video, the King Crimson guitarist takes on guitar duties while Willcox, clad in a revealing goth top with literal butterfly wings, gives the vocals a punk rock flair. The pair, filming in their kitchen, get some visual help from a dramatic wind machine.

In total, talent will appear to discuss 26 titles that will represent their home countries as the official submissions for the International Feature Film category at the 94th Academy Awards. After a pandemic-hobbled 2020 awards season that was fittingly capped off by a numbingly dull Oscarcast, it really is wonderful to be back with an in-person Contenders Film: London event that for many of us portends a much-hoped-for return to normalcy. This year’s event, featuring 44 panelists repping 19 movies from nine studios and streamers, gets underway today at 8 a.m. London time for our in-person event at the Ham Yard Hotel.

As the YouTube description proclaims, Toyah Wilcox finally breaks Robert Fripp’s brain as the couple cover Zz Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man” in the latest installment of their Sunday Lunch video series.

Joined as always by their masked guitarist, Sydney Jake, the trio ran through the Zz Top classic with characteristic abandon. About halfway through, though, Wilcox turned to Fripp and flashed him, leaving the guitarist looking dazed and amused, although he still managed to keep his composure and not miss a note.

Following their cover of Iron Maiden’s “The Number of the Beast,” Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox have continued their heavy metal streak by taking on Judas Priest’s “Breaking the Law.”

The quirky clip features Willcox dressed as a cop, holding a badge and baton with aviator sunglasses. A fan supplies massive wind action to her hair as Fripp sits alongside her, playing the opening riff. Later, Willcox dances and holds up her gold record of Toyah’s Anthem.

King Crimson’s Robert Fripp and singer/actress Toyah Willcox continued their Sunday Lunch series with a cover of Mötley Crüe’s “Girls Girls Girls.”

Stationed as always in their kitchen, Fripp bashed out the 1987 hair metal classic on guitar while Willcox hammed it up with a fittingly wild vocal performance. Willcox also spent the video waving around a tennis racket and squeezed in some forehand practice as she bellowed, “But what I need to make me tight are/Girls, girls, girls /Long legs and burgundy lips.”
