Okay, don't get me wrong. I loved this show when I was a toddler. But later on in life, I was like, "One of the most stupid shows I ever laid eyes on." Even two of my OC characters, Kailey Evans, and Kasey Anderson, hate the show. Seriously. Princess Pea's cat is stuck in a tree. Girl! Go get the firefighters or get a ladder! Don't go into a frickin book and mess up the story. Because going into fairytales and messing up stories AND not bothering to fix them makes this show a total rip-off of Whatever After. I know Whatever After was later, but I don't care. TOTAL RIP-OFF if I've ever seen one.
My little brother ( nearly 2 ) loves this show so much. I love it he loves it.
As much as it bugged me ( still does ) the way they change certain fairy tales which I love ( did not like Rapunzel ), they did an excellent job with making a show that engages little buddies, and also teaches them new words.
My brother often says words, and little things he sees or hears from it and I am amazed sometimes by it. He then adds "From.. Superwhy!" I am really proud of him.
The Animation is okay in the 3D animated parts, I really like the style now it has grown on me. But I really love all the different art once they are in the books.
The music is cool, even though they reuse it every episode, we still enjoy it; and after a while I was watching it too ( and not just because my bro was... ). I keep asking him who each character is, and it is hilarious. He tells me it almost every time I ask. In the parts with the alphabet letters he points to the right letters and everything.
When watching my little bro just soaks up everything like a little sponge, which is why I would much rather him watching an awesome show which has been helping him widen his vocabulary, and not something like peppa pig... which caused him to say ig instead of pig thanks to her little brother.
Super why is one of his favourite shows.

My 22-month old son loves this show. He loves it because of the singing and interactive nature of the show. I love it because I teach reading at an elementary school! I enjoy the premise of the show immensely - the ability to solve "every day" problems with solutions from a book or story. I also enjoy the fact that Whyatt's super power is the power to read and a big deal is made of it each and every time. Each of the other characters has "control" over one aspect of reading - spelling power, word power, and alphabet power. All of these skills are important for thinking about letters and sounds as connected and a part of the reading process. Kudos to PBS for providing yet another powerful show that helps our kids learn!
This was one of my childhood shows! But, why is there an offscreen kid audience who shout out the answers? It kinda annoys me. Example: One of the super readers ask "What word/letter is this?" to the viewers. Then, after a little while, One or more kids say the answer. And when Super Why says "Let's put the Super Letter in our super-duper... COMPUTER!", The kids say "COMPUTER" along with him. Why's that? Is that because by having kids shout out answers and participate in the chants, the creators aim to create a sense of connection and active participation? It might seem annoying to some viewers, especially adults and me.
Super WHY! is one of the worst kids shows that I have ever seen. It teaches kids nothing, the songs are corny, it is not educational and the CGI is just plain agitating. I am not one to disagree with those who hate the show. Honestly, I have seen more negative than positive reviews for this show. 75% of the reviews are negative and there are some really mature people. This show contains no educational value or age-appropriate educational material whatsoever. More reasons why I dislike this show is because of the dumb plots, cheesy dialogue, horrid special effects and the abysmal story lines. Besides, it teaches bad morals. Saying that is a "model of what preschool television should be", is a load of junk. They don't know what they're talking about. I would never recommend Super WHY! to anyone. Te reason why some kids keep crying for or get addicted to junk is because of this show poisoning the minds of children everywhere. For people(parents/children) who seek real preschool mater, watch "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood" instead. It's truly wonderful, fun, and really engaging for the kids to watch. Super WHY! however isn't. Parents, I highly advise you to keep your kids as far away from this show as possible. They'll thank you later.
Thanks for reading.
