It feels wrong to call this a romcom, as it deals with serious subjects and manages to connect to your heart. But it *is* funny and romantic. Our hero, the great singer and womanizer, has been in limbo for decades. He returns to earth and tries to redeem himself in the life and body of another man. A man who happens to be an impersonator of -- you guessed it -- Pedro Infante. Redemption is harder than it looks, as he soon learns while trying to sort out the mess of another's life.

Fun, fast, and well-plotted, with a mixed cast of characters.

Delightful romp reminiscent of the 1930's screwball comedies. Very likeable case, music, and settings.

The film has its best moments when it becomes a tribute to Pedro Infante (Omar Chaparro manages to imitate Pedro's voice perfectly), and to have good comedy moments that remind us again and again of Infante's work.

However, the film also raises the idea that Pedro must be re-educated to leave machismo behind and adopt more feminist positions. And it is in this sense where the film fails, when it tries to insert the feminist message, that although it is implicitly left over and makes the good rhythm of the plot be interrupted by such scolding.

A regular tribute to Pedro Infante, sometimes funny and sometimes moralistic, however, acceptable to see as a family.

I didn't know what to expect when I clicked to watch this video. I had seen it come up on my Netflix feed for about a week now and it wasn't till yesterday that I decided to watch it. I was so happy to have watched this movie. It was such a heartfelt film with a nice blend of comedy, drama, and romance. I liked every moment. By the end of the film I was so emotionally invested in the main character Pedro Guadalupe/Pedro Infante, that I was tearing up.

I thought this was going to be an all out comedy at first, but I was pleasantly surprised when the movie offered so much more. It has a great romance story depicting the main character trying to redeem himself and chasing the love of his once woman. He never stops and continues to find ways to impress his wife. He goes to great lengths to attain that goal. I liked how you can empathize with the main character because you notice how human he is when bombarded with temptation.

All in all, this was a great, fun, and touching movie. I would recommend it to anyone and please, be prepared to shed a few tears. I loved this movie and at the end I thought to myself how I'd love to see a sequel. But it's safe to say that this film is a standalone movie and that's okay. Great movie!

I'm a fan of both lead actors, so I was expecting to see something good. I expected the ending to be what it was, but what I didn't expect was for it to make me feel the way it did. This movie is a great story of redemption and second chances, and most of all, how someone who is really in love is willing to do anything. Congrats to Omar and Ana Claudia and Netflix for making a movie that is way above expectations of what typical nowadays Mexican movies are.

I really would have liked the film to be a tribute, although unfortunately it became more of a humiliation, I know that in its part it was comedy but as a tribute film it fails quite a bit in its mission.

Perhaps it is also due to the fact that since I was little I grew up watching Pedro Infante's films and I was able to notice that it would not be a tribute but to emphasize that he was macho, something that never seemed to me, I think this film is made for a younger audience or not I have mostly seen his filmography, since most know that in his films it is drama and tragedy combined with humor, by the way I am not that big, this is the opinion of a 20-year-old young adult.

I loved this movie!! It's pharisaical but enjoyed all of his songs, and the way it was set up, genius! This is my second time watching it today. First with my daughter who is for woman's rights just like the granddaughter in the movie, then with my husband who grew up listening to Pedro Infante and introduced me to his songs and movies. The story line is very romantic, but strong with a woman standing her ground, and unaccepting of Male chauvinist or Machismo behavior. We laughed and cried and sang along. I feel like this movie has successfully bridges the gap for the new generation to understand who Pedro Infante was, and why it's important to learn and love from our past.

The writers took a big risk managing the image of an icon of mexican culture and were fair in what issues should've been addressed in times like this, and i've got to say... it paid off. This is a great film that matches the moves, the songs, and even the looks of Pedro Infante, but also adds to the magic with original new songs that could have been sang by Pedro himself. Bravo!

The movie is very great. In fact it has 9.2 in Google. But here it has 6.2 and I imagine is because it only has 1 critic review and that critic is full of envy, but IMDB pay too much attention to one critic over the rest. Well. It Is time to stop paying attention to ratings.

I thought everything about this movie was outstanding, but most of all the acting and the music!

The only negative I have for this movie, as I'm not fluent in Spanish, is that the scenes in which Pedro sings do not have subtitles... I got the gist of most songs, but it would have been great to know for sure what they were about.

The movie works very well as a romantic comedy. The movie does a good job weaving Pedro's personal life, with his movie persona. There is a lot of Easter eggs for true fans all over this movie. Pedro's wife Raquel is a motorcycle cop, this is an obvious nod to Pedro Infante's movie (A.T.M). He is also handy with his hands this alludes to Pepe el toro the carpenter, and the real Pedro Infante who was a carpenter in real life. Infante Who was upses with fitness they make it a point to always workout with anything that's around him in the film. Chaparro does a great job using the old Pedro infante formula of song and charisma. Since most of what we know of Infante's way of being is from his movies. As very little interviews are out there of him being himself. I like the redemption aspect of the movie, having Pedro trying to rectify his macho ways. This aspect of the film of him trying to change is way is really just a spoof of one of Infante's Films. like the move Ansiedad who he plays the good twin brother or Escuela de Rateros where he plays a poor doppelgänger that has a heart of gold. The movie is full of Pedro Infante's Bitts from basically all his movies. Even the subplot of Jenny Infante, is a recycle bitt of him working with Chachita or La Tucita. All in All its fun ride Omar does a great job as Infante, I just wish the movie had more closure with some of the characters like Jenny Infante I just think there was more there they could have done, her father situation would have been a good closing segment.. If you know Pedro Infante movies really well then you can totally see all the Easter eggs. if not this movie may seem simple to you or even pushing a feminist agenda but is not the case at all its just simply a Love Letter to Pedro Infante Fans.

This was a great surprise, very entertaining. I don't usually watch Spanish movies but I thoroughly enjoyed the film. It was like watching an old Pedro Infante movie with all the comedy and great music you remember. Great modern concept. I highly recommend this movie

This type of movies is what we need to see in netflix to watch with the family and enjoy it, and it was really good story line and Omar Chaparro was amazing!

This movie feels like a love letter to Mexican Cinema's Golden Age. This movie fully embraced its campiness and that made it an incredibly fun watch. Great music with equally great performances, this movie is a must see. Although, it is helpful if you have a passing understanding of the reverence Mexico has for its idol, Pedro Infante, you don't have to as the movie will do a good job of explaining it. I thoroughly loved this movie. I watched it multiple times and laughed just as hard each time.

Fantastic music ! Great acting ! One of the best movies I have seen on Netflix.

It reminded me of the black and white movies my dad used to watch but with a modern twist. The best music of the 1950's! Funny and heartwarming. This is a movie the whole family can watch.

If you understand what it means Pedro Infante to Mexico, this movie will do it for you. Excellent chaparro performance. Good photography and musical scenes.

This movie is worth of Oscar in the musical category. I am a Hungarian, not understanding the songs in Spanish, but it was a touching, very enjoyable movie. Congratulations to Mr. Chris Chomyn, because the cinematography was more then perfect.

The trailer and movie poster does not do this movie justice. It's not what I was expecting but better!!!!

Humorous emotional roller coaster ride. I almost skipped it. So glade I watched it. I have not enjoyed a movie as much as this since Fury Road.
