Alan Oppenheimer, the original voice of Skeletor, Man-At-Arms, Cringer / Battle Cat, Mer-Man and Roboto on He-Man y los Amos del Universo (1983), voices Moss-Man in this show. Moss-Man was voiced by Lou Scheimer on the original show.
Originally announced to "pick up where He-Man y los Amos del Universo (1983) left off", this series is actually more in line with the Masters of the Universe Classics toy-line which incorporated elements from all the different continuities which have been created over since the brand's inception in 1981. It also takes inspiration from the DC Comics version published between 2012 and 2016, which was the first version of the story in which Adam's secret identity was revealed to the other characters.
Reunites Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy who voiced Joker and Bruce Wayne/Batman respectively in Batman: La serie animada (1992), plus the Arkham trilogy of video games.
The following characters from the original 1981-1987 toy line make their animated debuts: Scare Glow, Clamp Champ and Blast-Attak. The robotic horse Night Stalker, the dinosaurs Bionatops and Turbodactyls (briefly) and the three towers of the 1987 Eternia play-set also appear in animation for the first time.
He-Man and Skeletor's nipples are visible on their bare chests for the first time. By contrast, Teela, Evil-Lyn and the Sorceress have been redesigned so that their outfits do not reveal any cleavage. The new costumes for Teela and Evil-Lyn also cover up their formerly bare legs.
