Strange movie.

The aliens are a bit pathetic, the acting mediocre and it was obviously a budget movie or student movie, but that said I watched it and was entertained. The plot was pretty crazy and the makeup overdone, but better than a lot of budget movies I have seen this year.

The other savage(s)

No pun intended - I was actually looking for a different movie with a similar title. A French production I think - anyway back to this very low budget production ... which tries to make up for the lack of money (and acting talent mostly) by flooding the place ... well the script that is. There are quite a lot of characters and quite a lot of twists and turns ... it's kind of eating itself - if you catch my drift ... or is it grift? No just kidding of course.

If you suspend your disbelief and just have fun with movies that are done with a certain amount of money (or none at all) and you cherish that ... well you will have fun ... and I mean even before you see the blooper (reel) during the credits ... a couple of scenes of stuff that went wrong. Really cute and funny.

It pains me to score this 1 star

This film was so bad it annoys me that i had to give it 1 star in order to write this.

There is not one thing about this film that i can have a positive spin put on it. Everything about it was so bad, from the directing, acting script, editing and story. In particular the acting , the two that played the vampires lol talk about cringe worthy. Then there are the special fx. I mean come on! In an age where the average person can create movie quality special fx on a home computer, this was just laughable.

All i can say is that i sincerely hope that all involved are never allowed anywhere near so much as a camera phone ever again.

Gross

If you are entertained by cannibalism. That is none of my business. Personally I find it gross. Vampires and aliens ok but I never got that far. Switched it off and went to bed.

Savage Creatures

It takes a little while to realise this film isn't to be taken too seriously, but if you allow for the ludicrous plot, it is certainly worth watching. It begins with a bit of misdirection: a woman and her son have kidnapped a young woman; taking her home, they murder her, chop her up, and...yes, they're cannibals. Shortly, they see two teenage girls/young women walking alongside the main road and offer them a lift. Thinking they have found two for the price of one, they take them home, drug them, and while mother goes shopping, son is left to prepare them for the freezer. He puts the first one in the bath and chops off one of her hands. And this is where the fun begins. They are vampires, four centuries and more old, and, it goes without saying, don't take too kindly to being drugged, much less butchered. But can they save the world from the invading aliens who are turning the locals into zombies? What do you think?

Oddly enjoyable...

Right, well I was lured in by the movie's cover/poster, as it seemed rather interesting and had this epic vampire thing going on. So of course I took the time to sit down and watch this 2020 movie titled "Savage Creatures", despite not having heard about it prior to getting the chance to watch it.

So I had no expectations as to what the movie should bring to the screen.

Was I entertained? Well, sort of, in a strange way. I mean, the storyline was just mundane, to be frank, but there was just something oddly enjoyable in the whole match-up of cannibalism, vampires, butt-kicking priests and nuns with guns, zombies and aliens that worked on a geeky level.

Sure, the zombies were fast and agile, something which I loathe, but it didn't really matter, because they weren't playing that big a part in the movie. The aliens, however, well they were definitely interesting in design, and I liked that. As for the vampires? Well, no, that didn't work - for starters they were walking around in broad daylight with full sunshine, and of course they were lesbian lovers - sure, why not? I enjoyed the cannibal part to the movie, especially because it was set up to be devout god-fearing Christians! That was just hilarious. As for the priest and the nun, well the priest was just a bit too much, but the gun-crazy nun was a nice touch to the movie.

This was a low budget movie, certainly, but the movie was made with a lot of heart and spirit, and it was definitely showing on the screen that people were enjoying making this and put their entire effort into it.

While "Savage Creatures" is not a massive block buster movie in any way, it was actually sort of an oddly enjoyable movie, if you like me, have watched an abundance of zombie movies, vampire movies, alien invasion movies and movies about cannibals living in the remote countryside. So there is a little bit of everyone in here.

The acting in the movie was actually adequate. And I do enjoy watching a movie with unfamiliar faces on the screen, as the actors and actresses thus aren't associated with previously portrayed characters and roles in other movies.

My rating of "Savage Creatures" actually lands on a six out of ten stars, given the production and effort in the movie. It wasn't the most of entertaining movies in terms of script and storyline, but everything else was just whacky enough to make up for that shortcoming.

Watch it for low budget fun

Kudos to Kelly Brown & Victoria Steadman as Rose & Ursula. The two leads make a clearly low budget film amazingly fun. Obviously they had fun making this film. Going in NOT knowing the plot at all I almost turned it off after the first scene. I still get squeamish when kids get killed in horror. Give it time though. You find yourself rooting for and laughing with the leads. I certainly hope Ms Brown & Ms. Steadman continue on making films. They are fun to watch.

File this under wish they had a better budget.

But it was really funny, just the concepts going on in this movie made it fun, Cannibals vs Vamps, then Vamps vs Zombies created by aliens, then Vamps vs Priest/Nun, then Vamps vs the Aliens.

It was cute, and fun, worth the $1.25 I spent on it.

Indy Film, Disgusting thoughts and concepts ahoy!

First off, this movie starts slow. And it's more fun than serious.

Second, read the storyline. Or at least read the taglines. If you can handle all of those things, sometimes in detail, (especially cannibals) you're golden.

The depictions of the Holy roller style or ultra weird Christian religion is not favorable, the special effects are so-so to good, and it might benefit with a cut of the first ten to 20 minutes.

But this is an indy film. If you're forgiving, especially once you get into it, it's rather fun and irreverent and I really like the protagonists. The scenery is nice, the camerawork is good, and the idea strange, unusual, and amusing.

If you can get past the fact that this is a B movie with some disturbing characters, you'll love it. If not, move on.
