Orgasm Torture in Satan's Rape Clinic

OK, curiosity got the better of me: I suspected that Orgasm Torture in Satan's Rape Clinic would fail to live up to its incredibly depraved sounding title, but I had to see for myself just how far it would fall short. The answer: 'a bloody long way'.

The action takes place in a clinic dedicated to helping rape victims recover from trauma, and sees a pretty red-headed patient (Ruby Larocca) undergoing a unique three step programme—devised by the clinic's creepy doctor (Johnny Bronx) and administered with the help of his sexy assistant (Darian Caine)—which involves the girl being massaged, stripped naked, molested, and finally encouraged to pleasure herself.

Both the women get their kit off and indulge in a variety of steamy (non-XXX) naughtiness, but there's very little in the way of horror, and certainly nothing that could be described as torture. In other words, it's nothing but a lame lesbian soft-core sex flick masquerading as something far more extreme, and as such only deserves to be treated with contempt.

Its catchy title (and high-high DVD price point) weeds out all but the die-hard fans for this latter-day video from some of the kids whose Factory 2000 brought lesbian porn briefly back into vogue a decade ago. It's tame stuff, falling far short of even their usual "bad girls & boys" efforts.

Watching this junk I had the same reaction as seeing the STRANGLER videos from self-same non-director "William Hellfire". These are juveniles doing a porn version of dress-up. Instead of rifling mommy's closet to put on her oversize pumps and wear her pearl necklace, they play-act at porn, stressing the sadomasochistic end of the spectrum. When I was a teen I listened to Velvet Underground records (and saw them perform at our local basement dive La Cave in Cleveland) and learned of "Venus in Furs" in much the same fashion -vicarious youthful rebellion.

So here we have Zoe Moonshine (credited on screen as Cherry Hellfire, an equally dumb moniker she quickly discarded), producing this video as well as a companion work (touted in coming attraction trailer) THE DEVIL'S BLOODY PLAYTHINGS, to showcase her darker side. She remains perhaps the most enigmatic of the Seduction Cinema troupe -anorexic, wan and exuding a certain underage quality (that the fans dote upon), but lacking either the acting chops or the girl-next-door charisma that catapulted co-worker Misty Mundae to a weird sort of Warholian super-stardom.

Short video (all you gets brother is 45 minutes on a costly DVD, the only extra being trailers) opens fetishistically with Zoe putting on her white stockings. A masked creep (presumably played by director Hellfire) breaks into her room and attacks her for rough sex and bondage action. It's safe to say that this vignette is worth the price of admission if you're a fan; given the screaming title for this thing, no others need logically apply.

Video proper dispenses with Zoe, and focuses on the title clinic where an experimental "3-step" method of treatment is applied to sexual trauma victims to re-integrate them into society. The "clinic" is purposely staged in somebody's room at home -so phony and cheap that it represents the troupe thumbing their collective nose at the viewer.

Chief test subject is Ruby LaRocca, sporting her fake bright red dye job. She's trussed up and tortured by nurse Darian Caine and phony doc Johnny Bronx. There's a silly and unconvincing satanism subplot where Bronx seems to hypnotize Ruby with a tuning fork (!) and hams it up with glee at the prospect of her joining the Evil One's flock. It's a lame attempt to position this baby in the horror category.

Obviously the turn-on is about violence rather than sex per se. Much is made by the team and their distributor's marketing efforts at the "naughtiness" of the videos -a code word meaning explicitness as in XXX porn. But ORGASM TORTURE is strictly softcore X material, certainly a let-down to the hardcore followers of this menage. Darian does plenty of rubbing on Ruby's private parts and puts a dildo into play, but everything is simulated, not even coming close to the borderline. Since several of the team's videos, notably involving both Caine and the doyenne of their nasty streak Katie Jordon, have hardcore porn content, this one is a dud.

Technically inept, courtesy of Hellfire and his equally untalented d.p. Joey Smack, ORGASM TORTURE has its place securely saved in the dustbin of cinema non-history.
