I've been to Atlantic City way back in the day - during the transition years before casino's to after casino's - and it astonished me how much of AC - per this 2020 film - is still redolent of "old" AC.
The storyline of this is rather thin - but, omg, the filming and editing - gorgeous and beautifully paced.
The acting is nice - Jessica Hecht is a accomplished actress and she plays her role beautifully altho, the director has forced some plot twists that are rather "out of character" in a disappointing way - but that's not Jessica's fault.
The other main character - Michael Faist - does his best with a role that is very enigmatically driven - again, presumably by the "auteur" director - but that's, again, that's not Faist's fault.
But, again, the film is worth the watch for the cinematography - it is a wonderful capture of AC pictorially; and the editing is gorgeous, resulting in a elegant finished production.
