Warner Bros. Animation and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe are taking Gerry Anderson's legacy to an entirely different level. The companies have announced that they will be working on a Hit Squad animated series. The espionage action-comedy will take audiences through an international adventure featuring a team of talented spies. The heroes of this story will battle against hidden foes and dangerous villains. The title is being described as a "next generation Supermarionation for an adult audience."
Jamie Anderson, Darren Walsh, and Russel McLean have been recruited as producers for the upcoming Hit Squad animated series. French director Julien Villanueva whose animation and VFX outfit Circus Studio has worked on the likes of “Lego City Adventures”, “Around the World in 80 Days” and “White Fang,” has pitched his first ever original TV series project at Cartoon Forum in Toulouse.
“Dr Bob is a very simple concept,” he joked to the crowd of industry professionals gathered at the pitching forum in the southern French city. “It’s like Freud meets Kermit the Frog,” he explained about his show, a sitcom centered around Dr. Bob, a wacky psychologist who goes to extremes to make his patients happy, which often leads to radical consequences.
All the action takes place within the four walls of his office, a kind of modern-day confessional, located in the generic city of Socity, where upcoming municipal elections are putting everyone on edge.
The idea for the show, he explained, was born from his love...

As we get deeper into the summer, entertainment offerings are bound to start slimming – particularly in this pandemic era. Perhaps there’s no greater example of the oncoming drought than Amazon Prime’s list of new releases for July 2020.
Though the new options may be few and far between on Amazon this month, at least they pack a bit of a punch. In the case of Hanna season 2, that punch is quite literal. Esme Creed-Miles returns as the titular precocious super soldier. You can check out our review here. Beyond that, there are two intriguing Amazon original movies. The first is the Rosamund Pike-starring Radioactive and that arrives on July 24. Then there is the Dave Bautista film My Spy on July 26.
With HBO Max now on the scene, Amazon Prime is sure to lose some of its library titles. That can already be seen in the relatively sparse offerings for July.
