I found it fresh and interesting at first, but only made it through 2 full episodes before just skipping through to the runway sections for the rest. It was because of the chaotic editing and noisy nonstop talking that felt like filler before the good stuff.

Also, the whole teaming system in the beginning made zero sense, with some teams having unfair advantages (knowing each other for over 20 years) over others who were strangers and clearly ill-paired. One of the designers got all the way to like episode 6 or 7 without having any technical skills, but got to that point because of his much more talented teammate. There might have been some missed potential in some of the earlier eliminated contestants.

The judging also felt messy and biased at some points. They always emphasize "pushing the envelope", but then go for the safe designs at other times.

Overall, still a good show because the designers are very skilled and the runway shows are fun to watch. Some more cohesion and better editing would make this one to watch.

I can remember just couldn't wait for each episode of season 1 but the vibe for Season 2 just wasn't the same. It seemed very rushed and each show or challenge was rushed giving designers for example coming up with designs and fully making their projects in 4 hours is just insane. It seemed low budget - no trips to the fabric store in New York Mood Fabrics like in the past. I did pick the winner from the very beginning so happy with the final results. I thought the gender mixing wear such as the male in the off the shoulder gown was over done, didn't care for some of the themes such as childhood etc.

Show is interesting and fun, but the editing is sooo hard on the eyes. The constant change of frame or zooming in and out, just hurts. Like the show though but extremely hard to binge on because of the constant flashes of screen change.

I only have one complaint and that will come at the end of my review. I really enjoy this show because it just seems fresh and friendly. Other shows of this genre seem to have almost violent tendencies among the contestants towards one another, with infighting and insults. Everyone - so far - has been very respectful of one another with no tantrums. No one is over the top crazy acting out. I like that. It is just altogether more casual than Project Runway. Also, as opposed to Project Runway, the contestants seem to be very professional people, yet don't have inflated opinions of themselves. Now for my criticism. Why is it necessary for this show, and others similar, to use the term "old lady" to describe something that is out of style? Couldn't they just say "old fashioned," or "passé," other than insulting older women? They say it as if old ladies are the worst thing one could be.

I loved how it shows new and fresh eyes to fashion and wearability. As you have probably read in other reviews, I disagree with a lot of the decisions made in this show. Judging is not good and very biased and influenced by various elements which makes it really frustrating and can't imagine how designers who were unfairly let go would feel.

I enjoyed this show a lot. It was more positive and upbeat than your average reality TV competition. For once, the contestants supported each other instead of stirring up catty drama. The challenges were fun, the fashion was fresh, and the runway shows were well-done. Even the range of diversity in both the contestants and the models they dressed was refreshing. Alexa Chung and Tan France as co-hosts was my dream come true and they got a good set of guest judges to add some interesting perspectives.

I also liked that it really showcased the talents of the contestants rather than how well they faired through unrealistic challenges. Time was their only constraint and they had limitless materials to help them realise their designs. They were told that if a fabric or item they wanted was missing, the show would provide it for them. It was a welcome contrast to Project Runway where you can see good designers struggle when forced to only use items from a hardware store or pieces of candy.

I did think there were a couple first-season kinks in the format. First, I wish I had a little more of an introduction about how the show was going to work at the beginning. I couldn't tell if the initial groups were paired up by the designer's choice, if they applied with each other, or if it was a surprise when they arrived. It wasn't clear from the beginning where the show would be heading. I also really didn't like the elimination system. Why did they need to pull out a bottom two if the judges already decided who was going to be eliminated? I felt like there should have been some sort of elimination challenge or the judges should have deliberated after a bottom two was chosen. Or just say who was voted out instead of having them make a futile attempt to save themselves. Hopefully a second season will work these things out!

Tan France and Alexa Chung are delightful hosts but we needed to see less of them. Same goes for the designers' backstories which are laboured rather than engaging. It's be so much more interesting to see them at their craft rather than seeing their primary school photos. The production is over engineered. The jump edits, the fake 'three, two, one, GO!', the confected judging conversations - are all unnecessary distractions. Frankly, I don't even understand the need to start the competition in teams of two and finish as individual competitors. Kudos though to the runway stage designers; their work looks great. The heavy handed, host-centredness of the show is particularly galling because the fashion is so good. The design sensibility and, in most cases, construction seems so elevated compared to its OG - Project Runway and its infinite spin-offs. By the last few episodes I was fast forwarding to the runway segment because it's bookends were completely tedious. I hope Netflix finds a way to recraft the show so that the design work (not the hosts, the guests, the editing or frankly even the designers) gets to be the superstar. Five of my seven stars is for the fashion.

S1 was still a favorite, they had great set of talented designers. I'll be biased if I compare but waiting for S2 supposed to be better and exciting. Also I lived for the Drama which S2 did not give. The show was made so fast and rushed, I believe there could be some amazing scenes for details that could give great addition for the show. Few Tasks were not challenging enough and there were not much of wow factors. Most pieces were pretty basic I mean come on?

I Felt bad how the best designers got eliminated first leaving the least to stay on. My Least favorite designer 'Amari' she was sooo safe, Im shocked to find out she made it longer than she should. Was it just me or they did some cost cutting? Grand prizes were low in comparison from last season, no sponsorships? Some guest judges were unnecessary for the show? Bella, Emma, Hailey and Ashley? S1 has more iconic and substantial guests, we dont need personalities to judge, we need more people who knows the fashion industry very well. Designers were not pushing hard enough... MET Gala 'Camp' challenge supposed to be a conversation starter. Although I love love Alexa Chung, but Gigi Hadid was really great and a fun host. Love how objective and true were her opinions. In consideration of the time pressure by executing and coming up with design ideas. S2 was indeed incredible.

But it wasnt a season, I or everyone expected to see as a game changer from the pilot. Would there be a Season 3? Hmmm.

When dealing with something like Rock n' roll, you're talking about decades of history and entire subcultures. It's a delicate subject. The judges and hosts clearly didn't do their homework and their idea of what constituted rock n roll was almost comically warped - Alexa's tips were straight up offensive and contribute to the persistence of untrue stigmas. They should probably refrain from themes like these on the future. That being said, the rest of the show is very entertaining and watchable. If you're expecting fairness, though, you're not getting it. Some doubles have worked together for years while others met on the show and have completely dissonant styles. With some necessary tweaks here and there, Next In Fashion will be heading down the right path.

I'm a big Project Runway fan, but I loved this even more. It's younger, funkier, and a lot more fun. Bring on more seasons!

I was quite excited for this show, hoping it would be something similar to Project Runway, however it's decent at best. Without spoiling much, I'd say the judges often seem to make poor choices, clearly have favourites and at times it doesn't make any sense. For half of the show everyone works in teams. About half of those teams have been working together for years and have established friendships, connection and understanding from each other, making it very easy to work together. Then you get people in teams who haven't met each other prior to the show. Some of them clash strongly and people end up dragged down because of their partner's incompetence. It can be quite infuriating watching that and seeing the unfair hand some nice people have been given. Then the judges.. What on earth are they thinking?! The lady host makes you question her credibility in fashion (honestly, the street style look she wore screamed 'white girl with no style or culture' ) and then she criticises black women who have an established name in streetwear for being 'over the top' or something... They keep praising people who deliver the EXACT same looks on each and every episode... Disappointing. However, you do get some funny/entertaining bits from guest judges or contestants themselves. Won't

I didn't love season 1 but it was an entertaining time filler in between more interesting shows. However season 2 is a manic, garish mess. I couldn't finish it. The rapid fire editing makes it nearly unwatchable -- beware if you are prone to seizures! And the designs are laughable. I guess all of the talented designers were already employed or booked on other competition shows?

As for the hosts, Tan France and Gigi Hadid probably shouldn't be both hosts and judges since they're not great in either role. Tan makes a better host than judge. Gigi's inane commentary is eye-rolling and juvenile.

Donatella Versace seems a bit embarrassed though her face doesn't move so it's difficult to tell what she's feeling. She must've needed the cash. But then, the Versace brand has always had a trashy vibe so I guess it makes sense to throw her into this dumpster fire too.

I liked it and agree with the other reviewers - it was nice that it was more positive than the other fashion reality shows we've seen already. It was also nice to see work from already experienced designers who can actually sew really well, so the quality was definitely there in their work. I think eliminating 2 people every time I suppose sped up the show but didn't give us a sense of who these designers were really. I also think the show tried to be "woke" and mitigate any race cards being played as is common these days to garner sympathy.... so they had designers from all over the world, very multicultural. But alas, the race card was pulled, I'll let you find out for yourself when. And it didn't have grounds to be honest. Overall this was fun.

I'm not into fashion at all, but I still really enjoyed the show. I found it very interesting to see how the brilliant designers made something from scratch! There are so many different styles and the designers all have such great personalities and stories! I can really recommend this!

I loved the combination of Tan France and Alexa Chung as hosts along with an international mix of designers. It understood it was Netflix show with the hosts at the end coaxing me to watch another episode. So wolfed the 1st series. Not sure why all the changes to the 2nd series but it was a much flatter show with only US designers. It went from a show with a new point of view and style to just a re-hash of Project Runway. I'm not saying it was bad but it was just not as good as the 1st series. I thought it was fun and more stretching to pair designers for longer, dumping 1 pair after each show. Bring back Alexa and the international talent!

I have no idea what Alexa Chung is supposed to bring to this show, but she doesn't do it. She's cold and awkward and doesn't even touch Tan's charisma and class. So far I'm enjoying the competition and the challenges. Teams have two days to design, construct, and runway the garment(s) of the challenge. While I haven't understood all of the cuts so far, I still love the edginess of the designs and I'm looking forward to the next episodes.

Loved the designers and creativity of the first season. The hosts are awesome, Alexa and Tan. The second season is leaving me disappointed. First off the replacement host, Hadid. Makes it feel like the popular girl who got the job because of association with the industry but not great input and lacks MAJOR authenticity. Second, the cheap sound effects. In your face 'oohs' 'ahhs' *gasps* and thunderous applause that's clearly input. Makes me feel like a baby with keys shaking in front of me. That being said the designers are EXCELLENT. Beautiful pieces, diversity (although still lacking in body shape diversity), and positive atmosphere.

And the baby is so cute. Except for the epileptic editing that is. The hosts are very sweet and cute, I love their wit and kind heartedness. I would have loved to see the presence of a Tim Gunn like character and a judge that is a bit more critical though. The thing I liked about Project Runway is the crazy assignments like working with candy or a street based theme. For season 2 it would be nice if the producers step somewhat out of their comfort zone. This is not Project Runway and not The British Bake-off of course. This show has it's own heart and soul. But both aforementioned shows step out of the studio into the wold, city and history of the trade. I think that would add to the character of the show. But all in all, I really enjoy watching it. There are so far two plot twists I didn't see coming and enjoyed. That is great fun.

Maybe British people have the worst taste in fashion? I don't know. But some of those designs were truly atrocious and ended up in the top.

Season 1 was so well done. I liked the emphasis on the designs, the layout, how the critiques took place in the back after the runway show. Season 2 has more colors and is fun but the editing is so awful. I get a headache watching it and can't really focus on the designs. It's not what I would expect from a competition type show- more like what I'd see on a tik tok. Did they run out of qualified applicants for their editing department?

In S2 I feel like we don't get enough time on the designs and design process. I don't mind Gigi as a host but did enjoy Alexa more. Overall the focus doesn't SEEM to be on the designs and how they're presented to viewers.

Marry S1 and S2 and they could have a great S3. If Season 3 is like Season 2 I won't bother watching.

The show is fun. I really liked the international feel of S1. The designers were coming from different backgrounds and cultures and this showed in their designs. Also they were top professionals. There wasn't the expensive reality show drama. Editing was well done. S2 felt a bit chaotic and very American, the challenges were a bit schoolish, the edit was chaotic and also I definitely enjoyed Alexa better as a host. It's not that Gigi Hadid is bad, she just feels a little bit childish and clumsy as a host. If there's S3, I hope it's more like S1 rather like S2. The firs season felt much more genuine than the second one.
