When Valeria was a little girl she never understood why people called her by a name that was not her own. The same happened to Cristina, misnamed "Joselito" at the time, who had to survive a violent and cruel childhood under Spain in the sixties. Two women who were born in very different times but who, by chance or by destiny, end up together forever, when Valeria, a journalism student, decides to write a book about the life of the iconic Cristina, La Veneno.

Valeria, determined to write the book about Veneno's memories, finds herself in more difficulties than she imagined. There is something important in Cristina's childhood, but she avoids it and refuses to talk about that part of her past: a difficult childhood in Adra, where a young Joselito has to face the rejection of other children and even his own. mother, who does not look favorably on the boy's mannered forms. Thus, Valeria will have to use all the weapons at her disposal to try to understand what happened during those years that forever marked the life of La Veneno.

In full compilation of Cristina's life, Valeria also faces her transit. She lives a physical and psychological change that will lead her to consider and discover the range of possibilities that exist around identity. Also to want to carry their sexuality to the end. Sexual awakening that he shares with Joselito's infatuation in the past when he meets Tomás, a friend of the family he lives with after escaping from Adra: Los Romero.

In 2003, Cristina Ortiz entered prison, in a men's room. This will lead her to relive her darkest traumas and put her essence aside in order to stay alive in such a hostile universe. Essence that decides to recover at all costs in the present, obsessing over being a television star again although falling more and more into dark habits and attitudes that will diminish the energy of Paca la Piraña and that will convert Valeria's need to publish the book on something urgent.

Cristina suffers a strange accident and is in a coma. Valeria comes into contact with Veneno's family while trying to find out what happened. The end is near and Valeria will fight to fulfill Cristina's last wish.
