After We Collided

Roger Kumble directed Cruel Intentions (1999), a film with a plot often compared to the one of Anna Todd's After. Selma Blair, who plays Carol Young, also starred in Cruel Intentions as Cecile Caldwell.

When Tessa is given a Kindle as a present she turns it on and looks through the titles already downloaded. She touches the screen to move through the titles of books on the device. Kindles do not work in this way, a touch of the screen advances the page, Tessa is effectively reading a book consisting of the title pages and artwork of the books, not the books themselves. This is almost certainly done to make the story easier to follow on screen, rather than by reading the small titles as a Kindle really presents books.
