The film is publicized as a biopic of "Gopinath Iyengar" (founder of Indian airlines 'Air Deccan') who dreamed to offer air tickets at a cheap rate. But the lead character in the film is named as "Maaran", where the character is named after "Kalanithi Maaran", a corporate tycoon, who is a major stakeholder of another commercial Indian airline company "Spicejet".
