The Canadian drama Murder In A Small Town adds three new faces to the season 2 cast. The series, which is inspired by a series of novels set in British Columbia by L. R. Wright, as the title implies, follows murder investigations in a small town. It also follows the romance between the new police chief and the town librarian.

Variety originally broke the news that season 2 of the series is set to expand the number of small-town inhabitants the audience gets to meet. Marci T. House (Tracker), Bethany Brown (Watson), and Joshua Close (Fargo) have all been added to the cast of Murder In A Small Town.

Lego has confirmed its first live-action television project, a Lego Friends musical special planned for 2026 and executive-produced by “High School Musical” veteran Kenny Ortega, following an initial report in Deadline.

Announced on 8 July, the production will begin shooting in London this August, marking the brickmaker’s most ambitious screen venture outside animation and feature films. Ortega said the invitation from the company “is an absolute honor,” adding that his family are committed Lego devotees. He will work alongside longtime collaborator Paul Becker, who is set to direct and choreograph the 60-minute show after stints on “Julie and the Phantoms” and “The Kissing Booth”.

Story elements follow a girl who builds a Lego world and is whisked into Heartlake City, blending live performers with oversized bricks, LED-volume backdrops and real-time Unreal Engine rendering supplied by virtual-production outfit Final Pixel. Final Destination Bloodlines broke the world record for oldest person set on fire on camera, with 71-year-old stunt performer Yvette Ferguson coming out of retirement for the full-body burn.

“We lit so many different people on fire, including breaking the world record for oldest person on fire with Yvette Ferguson, who did that full body burn in the silver dress,” Zach Lipovsky, who co-directs with Adam Stein, told EW. “That was the oldest person ever on fire, on camera.”

The film’s stunt team reached out to Guinness World Records to officially submit the feat for consideration, but they have not yet heard back.

Ferguson plays Mrs. Fuller, who’s immolated in film’s 1960s-set opening sequence. Iris, a young woman on a date at a restaurant atop a 400-foot-tall tower, has a deadly promotion in which the crowded building collapses.

In a new interview with SFX Magazine, Zach Lipovsky — who co-directs the sixth installment in the horror franchise with Adam Stein — teased a twist on the film’s opening premonition.

“For this film, the first premonition takes place in 1969,” Lipovsky revealed.

Nickelodeon Studios has dropped a brand-new trailer and first-look photos for its eagerly anticipated Thundermans spinoff series. Thundermans: Undercover, which began filming last August, will premiere at 7pm on Nickelodeon on January 22.

Called Final Destination: Bloodlines, the sixth installment of the hit horror franchise is currently in development. Per THR, it's now been revealed who will be starring in the film, making up a new cast of characters who will presumably cheat death... temporarily. Among the cast members is Brec Bassinger, known for playing the starring role in the DC series Stargirl, which ran for three seasons on The CW from 2020 to 2022. Bassinger also reprised the role for a guest appearance in Titans in 2023. She is also known for starring in the Nickelodeon series Bella and the Bulldogs as well as the shark horror film 47 Meters Down: Uncaged.
