I'm not sure why this is being hated on so much.
It's different and more interesting than some of the recent stuff that is currently rated higher than this.

Is it people of a particular political stance that are giving this negative reviews I wonder?
Anyway I thought it was a stellar performance from all involved. Though there were some parts I thought why would they do that, in some of the scenarios. I would certainly still recommend it. Will there be a second series to resolve some outstanding questions? I would like to think so.
Having watched the first 2 seasons it's entertaining and a fun dramatised incite into the goings on in COBRA, but for me it could go further. The writers introduce the jeopardy over 5 episodes, slowly increasing it but then always leave it to the last 5mins of the show for a miracle to come along and save the day. Will would prefer a faster pace with a whole final episode that devoted to a conclusion rather than right before the credits rolls. It's like defusing a bomb with 1 sec left on the timer again and again. Why wait!
You can't fault the casting, there's some great British acting being done with a star cast!

The series was a high paced thrill ride that even during moments where it was pretty imperfect still flew by thanks to the pacing. One criticism is they could have done a better job early on making you care about the characters that deserved it but by the halfway point they managed to improve these points to. Set up nicely if they want to do a season 2 and I'd certainly be there to watch!
Whilst there are some unresolved plot lines, seeing Robert Carlyle as the PM was a superb choice, excellent value. Richard Dormer is brilliant as ever as well, looking like he could go full on nutter at any moment. Top TV.

- TriviaCOBRA stands for Cabinet Office Briefing Room "A" and is used here as the code word identifier for the emergency calling together of the Prime Minister, the 22 cabinet secretaries as well as heads of the military and intelligence agencies and any other officials deemed necessary to the issue at hand.. Also included would be the most trusted aides and advisers of the aforementioned, but only those with the requisite security level clearance. COBRA meetings are not held in the formal Cabinet Room located upstairs in #10 but instead are specially held in a below ground bunker type faculty with state of the art communications.
- ErroresThe chief constable wears medal ribbons on his outer jacket. In British uniformed departments medal ribbons are worn only on tunics; not on shirts or jerseys, and never on foul weather jackets or the like.
