This movie starts off rather messy and irritating but as soon as it found its path, there was some entertainment value. Ava Gaudet was gorgeous and did a great job portraying the suicidal wife of her husband and especially towards the end her performance was pretty good. The rest of the cast was decent too but she definitely stood out.
There is a recurring effect where the face turns all demon and creepy looking which looked a little messy but not too bad, also there are some practical body parts and gore in general that looked nice and realistic. However the movie still feels like there was lots of improvement possible and the overall runtime of over two hours was definitely way too long and could have been cut to 90 minutes or maybe even less. For that reason I think that this movie is definitely no masterpiece but it's also not terrible either and I think certain audiences will enjoy it mostly. [5,1/10]

When the young woman Emma Carillo (Rachel Emmers) is stabbed five times, the paramedic Marcus Galan (Kristopher Shepard) feels a great empathy for her and unsuccessfully tries to save her life in the Mercy Hospital. Meanwhile the near death patient Caroline Kuntz (JJ Newards) awakes; kills two people; and leaves the hospital. When Marcus arrives home, he finds his suicidal wife Carla (Ava Gaudel) cheating on him with a stranger. On the next morning, Marcus goes to a hearing due to a diabetic shock and death of the hooker Elizabeth Markham. The private detective Carruthers (Ving Rhames) is assigned to investigate the case. Meanwhile Caroline visits Carruthers's son Vic and slaughters him in his office. Carruthers visits Elizabeth's mother and sooner he discloses that the case is actually a supernatural plan of the demon Lilith to revenge against the human race.
"Evil Angel" has a messy beginning with Jeff Morgan haunted by many evil demons and this sequence has no explanation and is only to mislead the viewers since there is only one demon in the whole story. Then entwines many different situations with erotic exploitation and it is difficult to follow the mainstream of the plot. The wooden Kristopher Shepard keeps the same expression in every scene and is too weak to the lead role. But the film is entertaining in the end, when the screenplay finally clarifies what is happening. My vote is six.

If you are a fan of Ving Rhames, you cannot go wrong with this I guess. But if you are not so much, he won't convince you with this movie, that he is an actor to be looking out for. And while the movie looks good (nice cinematography and set design, considering the small budget this must have had), it never really takes off.
So while not entirely a bad movie, it depends on how many movies you are watching on a regular basis, to really justify you watching this. Most people won't bother from the get go (apart from the aforementioned Rhames fans) and the rest might be more than disappointed when watching this. Still nice turns (for a small independent movie) and executed well enough, not to be a complete waste (of time)

I had no idea what to expect from this film. The opening credits consisted of a woman writhing around naked. As the credits came up on screen one of them stated "You're not even reading this". This is something that wouldn't be out of place in a spoof. It was a nice chuckle, but gave a false idea of what to expect. The film succeeds in actually trying to squeeze out some drama and internal conflicts between it's protagonists. On top of that you have a demon possession, mass murder plot going down. It's all fairly entertaining, if predictable. The cast are solid, but not always convincing. All I can say for sure, is that I quite liked it.
This movie has been done before a zillion times, at least it feels like it. Alien/Demon/monster/IQ form/ghost, takes over a helpless human body and wreaks havoc on all concerned. That being said, the budget was clearly above $1 million which always helps, the lead actors had some charisma (note to directors, this helps), and the dialogue was passable. The directing felt stable, but again lacking in that oomph...feeling. My only concern was the lack of originality of the main plot, to be honest, I think it would have worked better setting the whole movie in a small claustrophobic village rather than a big city, where random deaths just don't have the same impact, on the viewer in life or in a movie. I wanted to like this movie, and I am a huge fan of the horror genre so I gave this a five rating, if you are not a horror fan deduct points accordingly.
