Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Historical, Horror, Shounen, Supernatural This is one the best animations i have ever watched. It has everything from storyline, to characters, and fighting scenes. The plot is in England at the end of the 19th century, where the Earl of Millennium is trying to destroy the human race by using Akumas (demons) to take over a human body...sounds like a very cliché' idea at the beginning but the story has a lot more to it than fighting. It will take sometime for this animation to become as popular as naruto, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, and so on... But should be great fun to watch. P.s Becareful, very addicting.

After a promising start, the plot has become more and more confusing as if it doesn't know where to end. Nice graphics department and characters. It could have been much more but in the end the series was cut short by the hiccup continuation of the manga that literally ended the plot.

The story was just brilliant. It's very interesting and full of twists. Some of the episodes made me cry (especially episode 56). The last episode was kind of weak for me just because it was left with an open ending. The artwork was so beautiful. The places shown in the anime were just awesome (although some of the places don't look the same in the real world). Most of he characters were so sexy (Allen, Lavi, Tyki, Bak...well I may sit here all day listing them...I'm sure you don't need that). The Earl was so revolting that I was sure I'll have nightmares after watching the anime. In addition to being sexy, the characters were actually very well developed, too. Their growth during the episodes was just amazing. I loved Allen's character...and his appetite was just unbelievable o.O The music fitted the anime so perfectly. It was really creepy sometimes. Some of the pieces were really beautiful and peaceful. "Snow kiss" and "Doubt & trust" were my favorite songs among the openings and the endings. Despite the length of the anime (for me 103 episodes are a little bit too much) it was really easy for me to finish it...and I didn't even want the end to come so soon. I highly recommend you checking it out. I'm sure you won't be disappointed :)

If you're debating whether or not to watch this then think no further! THIS SERIES WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. TOO BITS. I am not kidding. That said, though I personally prefer the manga to the anime just cause the anime doesn't 100% follow the manga. Even so, I've seen a lot of anime and I can say so for sure that this is a whole new level of epic from the rest. I just wish this series had the recognition that it deserves. Its really heart breaking to see that it's only rated 7.9 out of 10?! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE RATING! IT MEANS NOTHING! IT DOES NOT Disappoint! HONEST. I would let you in on all the details of the cliffhangers to the plot twists and mind farts but that would turn out to be spoilers so I'm not even going to start on it altogether for the sake of those who haven't read that far into the manga yet or only watched the 103 episodes of the anime. BUT LET ME TELL YOU. THIS ANIME IS A MASTERPIECE. IT IS LEGEND. GENIUS. A WORK OF ART. This is coming from someone who has completed the Anime and is up-to-date with the manga so I know what I'm talking about LOL. NOW STOP READING AND GO PLAY D.GRAY-MAN~ GO ON~ <3 *Winks*
*Also, sorry if this review sucks, I just wanted to help this get back up somehow... even though I suck at them ^ - ^;

No spoilers - Only the first two seasons of this anime have been dubbed in English by Funimation, an excellent organization that does quality work bringing anime to American audiences, but sadly, those two seasons of the four that were produced by Dentsu and TV Tokyo, are nowhere near as well done as the last two.
The first two seasons, which this review addresses, loosely follow the manga, but include extras and filler that don't have the clarity or maturity of the source material. These extras may come from other peripheral publications that this reviewer hasn't seen, but they bog down and trivialize the story almost to the point of making it boring. I've now seen all the anime and read the available manga (which continues the story long past what has been animated) and the shortcomings of the first two seasons of the anime are GLARING.
D. Gray-Man, seasons 1 & 2, are worth watching if only for the wonderful dubbing work that Funimation does, but their only real purpose is to set up the situations, characters and storyline for the third and fourth seasons. It's a shame that Funimation has not bought the rights to these subsequent seasons, partly because of a lack of enthusiasm for the first two (which is, IMHO, warranted) but also because Dentsu is asking (so I am told) a great deal for the rights to the later seasons, because if the first seasons of DGM had followed the manga as closely as the third and fourth seasons have, I believe it would have been a smash hit.
I find the first seasons watchable, but only once. While I'll go back time and again to watch episodes from the third and fourth seasons, the only episodes from the first two that I can watch again are the ones that most closely follow a chapter in the manga. The fillers bore me silly.
This series is worth a watch, but if you want to do the world a favor, add your voice to the people asking Funimation to buy the rights to and dub the later seasons. I call the first two seasons of this series a 7, but the last two are 12's!

It is amazing in every way, only complaint is that it doesn't hav as many episodes as the manga. I have started reading the manga, I personally dont like manga but I loved the manga. Both the source material and anime are flawless, once manga I'd complete I hope the anime gets a reboot that far exceeds d gray man Halloween.

It's a new concept but very simple and boring. Maybe it was supposed to be more mysterious and ended flat. I'm only on episode 12 but it hasn't grabbed my attention. Maybe it's cause I've seen much better and well thought out anime's with better plots and background music so it's not fair. Speaking of the music I hope it improves cause it's background music reminds me of black and white movies where it's very over dramatic like Dracula black and white rebveal. Very boring and doesn't add to scenes at all and is annoying. Imagine a romantic scene where two folks are making eye contact and it's love at first sight but you hear heavy metal. Doesn't feel right. Anyways back to the main story, the attempts at comedy also fall flat and the action is half decent. Additionally the typical anime second is played out too much. Anime second is where a fight is occurring and they have a conversation that lasts forever during a fight and everybody stops fighting to allow the enemy to do worse things. I literally hate when a fight occurs and people just stand, talk, watch, do nothing to help. I understand suspending reality but jeez there's a limit to that and it becomes ridiculous. I don't think I can co time watching it since my patience is at its limit cause I keep expecting something to grab my attention and curiosity. Action alone is worthless without a good story and characters. Most if not all the characters are bland in my opinion. Even the villains just annoy me instead of thinking oh wow impressive and complex it's just worthless talk and inaction and the obviously overpowered bad guys and underpowered good guys who struggle for no real reasons other than not acting when they can and talking when they shouldn't. Lastly I'll say this review is in line with a grown person's viewpoint and not a kid or teen who may be entertained with this anime. The writing may be for a younger viewer who won't care about how bland or boring these characters are to an older crowd and they will appreciate the childish comedy and type of writing.

I love this show, it has even got me to start reading the manga. This show presents an amazing story with character development and growths that aren't ridiculous. Further more it doesn't rely on the sexualisation of females for popularity, even the Noah for lust isnt. I like this because it shows the characters individually and doesn't rely on their bodies for them to be captivating. My only complaint is Lulubell attacks arc, I hate it personally and juts isnt that good all round. But other than that this show is a master piece and has received amazing treatment.

It came with to much drama and feelings, less in managing to actually feel something deep in the story.
