Heart of Fear

This move was direct to video. Some suspense but not enthralling, its a movie that might keep your attention and you might leave it without remembering it. Just a standard straight to video movie. No great acting, Annie Wood the lead female character does the best job. So I guess its kind of debatable if this movie will catch your fancy or not

I had to stop watching just ten minutes into the movie.

While I appreciate the effort and investment that must have gone into making this film, the acting was terrible, and the audio quality - honestly, it was shockingly bad.

I couldn't help but wonder how such movies get made. I hope the producers managed to recoup their investment.

The indoor conversations were especially poor, sounding as if the actors were speaking into a metal tin. This made it hard to focus on the plot because I was constantly distracted by the terrible sound.

To make matters worse, the acting of both the male and female detectives left a lot to be desired. Their flat performances really undermined the intensity of the scenes they were supposed to carry.

It's a shame because with better sound engineering and more convincing performances, this could have been a much stronger film.

Straight to video film want to pose as a typical crime thriller,with twist,hard cop woman,good,and bad guys,and some nudity.Some of the fans of the genre will accept this despite the lot of script and other little problems,but personally I'am not impressed,and don't recommend this movie.Probably acting is not as weak in this film,like other problems in it.Main female character has only a few good scenes.I can not remember any good,or memorable action,or suspense scenes,probably the budget is also the reason,and the part of the problems of this film.Some members of the audience will just scream to something different while watching this film,I have to tell you it was very,very hard,and long to write this review.

There's too much cutesy cutesy between the lady FBI detective and the handsome newspaper reporter and not enough actual tension or suspense. It's a lucky thing they were able to finish making this movie because I think the kid playing 'Taylor' would have gotten bored and gone home by the halfway point. And why, please tell me, would the authorities or the police leave the kid - who is in danger from the 'slasher' - in town and with that FBI lady?? They needed to put him out of town someplace safe. But that would have made sense. Ugh, this movie is just blah. We're at midpoint now and so little has actually happened... so dull.

Except for the budget part, it reminds me of something Elaine Benes said once on Seinfeld: "It's like a big budget movie with a plot that goes NOWHERE."

A serial killer is loose and believing the son of one victim saw him, pursues by all means to find and kill him. Police and FBI have to work together, but butt heads with Hunt wanting to prevent Acosta using Taylor as bait, which leads to an unexpected climax. [Don't read about it! Skip reviews, watch it! One of the best elisions I've seen; i.e., "Whodunit"; for a climax to knock your socks off is not only a great story, but fantastic directing; everything you thought you saw was exactly what characters portrayed to make you believe; no bringing you along through the preparation of a character's scene of deception to have you understand what the character is doing or about to do; the director deceives the viewer. As the climax unfolds, you sit there content in your knowledge of what happened, why, and how it is going to end. Then, "Blam!", nothing is as it appeared. Suddenly, you appreciate characters you pegged as dislikable and annoying, give an "OMG!" about the truth, and discover the heart of fear is the heart of love. Congratulations on the story and to director Henri Charr. Although acting and character development could be improved, for acting coupled with directing to steer us, the viewers, in the wrong direction, is superb. I have noted this film for a 2nd watch, W-10. Hitchcock would have loved this sleeper.]
