The backdrop to American Horror Story season 6, our Us chums look at the lost colony of Roanoke, its myths and pop culture appearances...

In case you missed it, the American Horror Story season 6 theme has been revealed, and it is a bloody Roanoke Nightmare indeed. After promoting the new season without releasing a single frame of footage, the ever-cryptic Ryan Murphy has now unveiled his true crime satire-meets-American Gothic to a surprised public, leading many to wonder… what is Roanoke again?

Despite a misconception in some quarters that the name infamously tied to the words “Lost Colony” was made up for the series, and that this fictional ghost story was set in Virginia (Roanoke is in present day North Carolina), Roanoke is indeed a real place, and the ghost stories around it are every bit as strange—if not stranger—than anything American Horror Story has dreamed up.

Caryn K. Hayes's Breaking Point web series has premiered. The show follows a group of friends as they deal with the extraordinary crises that make up their day-to-day lives.

On the premiere episode, Dana and Ben take their relationship to a new level, which shocks the girls. A contract dispute with an irate music producer keeps Dennis from getting home, spawning an argument between Dennis and Gabby.

Writer-producer-director Caryn K. Hayes unleashes high drama online with her new award-winning web soap series, Breaking Point, which follows a group of friends as they deal with the extraordinary crises that make up their day-to-day lives.

The series is set to launch on Tuesday, August 2, with a new episode rolling out each Tuesday for five consecutive weeks.

The pairing of Roger Corman, the 20th century’s king of B-moviemeisters, and the Sci Fi Channel, which doles out cubes of processed cheese week after week, should occur far more often. Not necessarily because their collaborations are that noteworthy, but rather because it seems predestined that these two work together.

The man responsible for The Saga Of The Viking Women And Their Voyage To The Waters Of The Great Sea Serpent (credited here as producer alongside his wife Julie) and the network that churned out S.S. Doomtrooper? They were made for each other, regardless of the results.

Fango caught up with screenwriter Rafael Jordan to chat about his latest creature feature Yeti, which premieres on the Sci Fi Channel this Saturday, November 8 at 9 p.m. before hitting DVD from Genius Products as part of its Maneater DVD series January 13 (see item here).
