In a nutshell so that you don't have to read the rest of my crap if you don't want to: Old story. Aliens are having problems in their world and so come to ours to bug us or take over, or something. I dunno. So an alien agent is sent to stop them from their diabolical schemes.
When not chairing the "Iron Chef" Mark Dacascos. does action B-movies which are, in my opinion, usually better than most B-movies but yet always seem to fall just short of their potential. This one is no exception. All the pieces are there; just needed a little bit more intelligence in the writing and better direction. Case in point: our hero steals a police car and was asked by his companion why he did it. He replied that he wanted to hear the police reports. This was so obviously a lame excuse since the cost of attracting so much attention to himself far outweighed the benefits of any police report. Besides, he could simply have used or gotten a scanner of his own (he had a hideout full of crap).More likely the director wanted a car chase and this was his best excuse to get one. In another scene a lot of people were killed for no good reason other than to steal a truck. Why would you do that and draw unwanted attention to yourself? More likely the director needed a mass murder in the movie this was his best excuse for one.
I wanted to like this movie, and I did "somewhat" (I liked the early scene with the alien chick on the overpass; at that point the movie looked very promising) but there were some inconsistencies that bugged me. In the first fight scene the hero fought very well; expertly. Then there was a later fight scene where he appeared to not know how to fight at all. If the director wanted the bad guy to get the better of him he could have done it without making him look like he forgot how to fight altogether (he basically stood there and took an ass whipping).
Dacascos obviously is a talented martial artist. More so than Van Damme or Seagal. And yet -as luck or fate would have it- never achieved even their level of success. Ironic that he's probably better known from a cooking show than from what he does best. Kick ass. Ahh well, life has a sense of humor. All I can say for Alien Agent is that it's better than most B-movies which may or may not be saying much. Why don't you be the judge? Love, Boloxxxi.

A bunch of aliens come to earth looking to colonize the planet (damned aliens!!). A "good alien" played by Mark Dacascos (who is the Chairman on the US version of "Iron Chef") comes to fight them because the good aliens think they can colonize another planet, and that will not involve wiping out all of humanity. But the weapon of choice for these aliens is machine guns... and man, do they love their machine guns! No laser beams for these aliens! The good alien meets up with a girl played by Emma Lahana, the Yellow Power Ranger in the Dino Thunder series, and she is just as cute and hot as ever, even though they gave her the single most ridiculous body double/shower scene in history (it looks like the body double was from another movie!).
So, sounds fun? Well, it is. If you're expecting greatness -- or even sense and continuity -- steer clear, but for a fast-paced little sci-fi action flick, you could do a LOT worse.

Since I like action films, sci-fi films and invasion films and I am familiar with the work of Mark Dacascos, I was curious to check out this movie.
I can't say it's a total disappointment. It has it's moments and some of it actually does work. Unfortunately, what might have been a good film, got lost under a pile of amateurism, cheap sets and poor special effects.
On the good side, the acting is not that bad and there are elements you wish where explored more. Plus the action is OK, even though I wish there had been more martial art fights between the main hero and some of the main baddies in stead of just ordinaries lackies.
What bothered me the most was the ending which felt tacked on as if the producers were planning for a sequel. If one ever materializes, I will probably watch it.

I sat down to watch the 2007 sci-fi action movie "Alien Agent" for the second time since it was initially released. I have to say that while I have watched the movie once before, then I couldn't remember anything from it. Hence, as I had the opportunity to watch writer Vlady Pildysh and director Jesse V. Johnson's 2007 movie again here in 2022, of course I did so.
Needless to say that it was because of leading actor Mark Dacascos that I opted to return and watch "Alien Agent" a second time.
The storyline in "Alien Agent" is rather generic, if I have to be bluntly honest. Sure, it made for an adequate enough viewing experience, but the storyline was not outstanding. So writer Vlady Pildysh didn't exactly manage to put together a storyline that was out of the this world - pun intended. The storyline is driven by a rather mundane and slow pace, making "Alien Agent" somewhat of a drag to sit through.
The acting in "Alien Agent" was adequate. While the movie was led by Mark Dacascos, he wasn't really given any opportunity to fully utilize his martial arts skills in the movie. Sure, there was a bit of fighting, but it wasn't sufficient for my liking. The movie also has Billy Zane and Kim Coates on the cast list, so there are some familiar faces on the screen.
"Alien Agent" is a sci-fi action crime movie, and as such I would have expected a bit more usage of special effects. However, they opted to go pretty low-tech here, and the movie was sort of suffering from that.
While watchable, "Alien Agent" was not an outstanding movie really. And I doubt that I will ever return to the movie a third time.
My rating of "Alien Agent" lands on a four out of ten stars.

First, the plot of "The Event" - the dying planet trying to assemble the teleportation device to beam their inhabitants to safety and the the evil faction going to kill us humans off so they have room on Earth - seemed a wee bit familiar. They stole it from here. This one came years first.
It wasn't a great plot to steal, but The Event could have pulled it off with better acting and a more logical, well written script. They should have known by watching "Alien Agent" that when you don't have a script worth jack you don't have a decent show. Unfortunately, they didn't learn that critical lesson.
Well, on to "Alien Agent." Yes, it is as bad as everyone says it is. Horrid writing, terrible episode, just abysmal. I have seen better from Sci Fi channel movies. It lacks even cheesy CGI special effects. The production values looked more like a bad Star Trek: TOS episode than anything else.
Don't ruin an hour and a half of your life by watching this Grade D turkey.
