I saw this Movie on Premiere Night

I saw "Dale" at the Premiere in Daytona , FL . I've gotta say its excellent and far exceeds any project I've seen to correctly capture the life and times of Dale Earnhardt. I feel this movie blows ESPN's "3" out of the water. I know they aren't the same "type" of film but I still feel that an archival film could have been made instead of a fictionalized story.

I really enjoyed this movie and I recommend it -- Great job and Kudo's for all your work tracking down the fantastic footage for this and editing it together so well . It was all on the money , Sound , Pacing and those wonderful hallmark moments.

Dale vs 3

WHile it was a nice movie i think it is just ridiculously being compared to ESPN's 3 and the two are hardly the same time of movie. One user even listed 3 as fictions which it isn't. Dale is a nicely put together narrated version of Dale Earnhardt's life vie the use of old clips and interviews. It's a nice documentary, but a documentary none the less. I think something alittle more combined like the 3 and Dale together would be the best way to pay homage to great Intimidator.

Watch it, love it, live it. It's bring you to tears, break your heart, and make you smile and grin. It's a documented story that grabs your heart.

What an outstanding movie

Certainly one of the greatest movies ever made about one of racing's most legendary figures. I loved the way the movie continually segued around Earnhardt's triumph at Daytona ... simply one of the best movies I've ever seen. A total success! I particularly enjoyed the comments by Darrell Waltrip ... and how he described his friendly, then awful, then almost-brotherly relationship with Earnhardt. I'm surprised, and a bit puzzled, why Michael Waltrip wasn't interviewed for the movie ... particularly given his unique relationship with Earnhardt. Watching Dale's race was chilling ... brought back all the memories of watching it unfold live ... and listening to Waltrip's haunting "what about Dale ..." after his exuberant celebration of Mikey's victory. Dale Earnhardt was simply the greatest. He triumphed at a time when NASCAR was truly the fan's sport ... and not the bogus, washed-up, commercial machine of today. It's a sad state when professional wrestling can be said to be more up-and-up than today's NASCAR circuit ... some of the things I've seen transpire over the past several years have all but driven me from the sport. In that sense, I'm glad Earnhardt died when he did ... so he didn't have to experience the shame of what his sport has become.

Good

Dale (2007)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

Paul Newman narrates this documentary about the life and career of Nascar legend Dale Earnhardt. I must admit that I'm not of fan of Nascar and I really don't see what all the hype is about but I watched this documentary because I've always been interested about Earnhardt plus I always love hearing Newman's voice. This documentary really changed my mind about the sport and it also made me understand why Earnhardt has become such a legend in the six years since his death. There are countless interviews with his family and friends as well as old interviews with Earnhardt himself. The best interviews come from the fans who explain why they loved the man so much and seeing Earnhardt on his farm working just days after winning millions of dollars perfectly captured why he was so loved. The documentary is edited together fairly sloppy but that's the only complaint from me.

The Man The Legend

I remember seeing Dale the movie 2007 with my brother, two family friends and my dad in theaters for a special screening to see Dale 2007

Dale Earnhardt the man who many called the legend and true hero of NASCAR.

Any Dale Earnhardt fan must watch this movie because this film does a great justice in learning about the life of Dale Earnhardt Sr. And gives you a great understanding how he becomes one of NASCAR's greats.

Along with Paul Newman as the Narrator and he helps deliver a great narrating for Dale

Many of his family and friends appear in this program to share their stories about Dale. We get to hear from his children Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kelley Earnhardt, Kerry Earnhardt, and Taylor Earnhardt along with his willow Teresa Earnhardt.

Along his friends we get to hear from his Car owner Richard Childress whom he and Dale were very close friends. Along with his follow rival drivers and friends along with those who work behind the scenes sharing stories about Dale Earnhardt.

Also the film features a superb soundtrack with mix of rock and roll and country music

"Fortunate Son" by Creedence Clearwater Revival,"Blood Brothers" by Bruce Springsteen, "Wild Side" Motley Crue, "Hard Workin' Man" by Brooks & Dunn, "Looking For A Road (Theme From Dale)" by Brent Keith "Forty Hour Week (For A Livin')" by Alabama "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" by Travis Tritt, "Bad To The Bone" by George Thorogood, "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, "The Intimidator" by Charlie Daniels, "Can't Keep A Good Man Down" by Alabama and "I'm Gonna Be Somebody" by Travis Tritt. Each of these songs are classic and when they are in used for showing highlights of Dale's career they pick the right footage for the song used.

Just watching the movie gets you a understanding and respect for him and it's best when you see it

A real fan of Dale Earnhardt should watch this because this film does a great justice for the man and the legend in the sport any fan of auto racing should get it a watch

A great documentary film on a NASCAR HERO.

I got into NASCAR after watching the movie CARS. I became a fan of both Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. When I found out this movie was coming out to CMT in September 2007 I was just so excited. I loved it. It was better than the 3 movie with Barry Pepper. It really explained Dale's life from racing all the way up until his death on the final lap of the Daytona 500 in February 18 2001. I really liked it when Dale called Dale Junior a teddy bear and Dale Junior said No Dad. I'm a polar bear. That was pretty funney. I cried when Dale's death scene came up and the president of Nascar announced Dale's death. It was pretty sad but I'm glad Dale lived and died doing what he loved best. This movie is very good and includes on the DVD bonus features and additional interviews with Dale's friends, family, and competitors. Dale was a true American icon and the story of his life was meant to be told by this documentary film! 10 out of 10! Now I hope that they make a documentary film about Jeff Gordon.

History of a legend

If you're already a Nascar fan, you'll love this film, hands down.

If you aren't a fan, but are curious what makes Dale Earnhardt's legacy in Nascar so powerful, watch this film to learn about the Intimidator. A wonderful overview of his career, family, following, and spirit.

I would call it a fair and fitting tribute to an inspirational figure. The solo interviews with Dale are really touching, and the whole film is emotionally charged with Dale's spirit and passion for the sport.

The film as a whole isn't an artistic masterpiece, but the subject matter is powerful enough to make it an enjoyable, and at times bittersweet, picture of Dale. A big step up from an ESPN 'SportsCentury' style documentary.

The film doesn't play Dale up for more than he was - a born racer. He loved to drive and he loved to win, and that drive dominated his life to the end. But his swagger and effect on his crewmates and fans, I think, are what makes him legendary more so than his wins.

I have the movie poster

Loved the movie. I cried at the end. If you are a NASCAR fan this is the movie for you. He is truly a NASCAR legend and I liked the way the film portrayed him as being just that I felt it showed the good and bad times of his life and his struggles through those times. The documentary was in my opinion better than the 2004 movie played by Barry Pepper. Although it is difficult to compare a documentary to a movie. Great movie and would recommend highly- the footage was outstanding and well edited. The movie captures the true nature of the sport and the interviews at the end were very moving.

I have the movie poster would anyone know how much it might be worth?
