Mystery Science Theater 3000: Eegah (1993)

One of the most laughingly bad movies ever made, EEGAH, finally got the MST3K treatment and it certainly made for another good episode. If you're already familiar with the film it's about a pair of teenagers who discover a caveman and of course the caveman falls in love with the woman. What happens throughout is perfect material for such a show.

As I've said several times, I really can't call myself a "fan" of this show but I do enjoy watching an episode ever so often. I usually pick out movies that I'm used to and know quite well like this one. For the most part this is another very funny episode thanks in large part to the film itself being great material. Arch Hall, Jr. does a lot of singing in the picture and these moments get some of the best laughs including a line about his singing being able to keep the wolves away.

As is often the case, the jokes are hit and miss but there's no doubt that the majority of them hit the mark. There are some great ones dealing with Eegah's mute nature as well as some hilarious bits during the scene where the father is pretty much letting the caveman handle his daughter.

If your stomach doesn't hurt from ODing on laughter after watching Egahh get the MST3K treatment you're dead, so effing funny!!! This unintentionally hilarious low, low budget flick from the early sixties does not disappoint in the horrid dialogue, acting, set and props department and the Bots are on fire with their snarky, mean spirited comments.

A young girl who lives with her scientist father at a country club in a desert community has an encounter with a giant caveman. Intrigued, dad sets out to investigate. After being dropped off in the desert by a helicopter and clothed in a safari jacket, shorts, black Oxford shoes and black socks topped off with a briefcase but no supplies, equipment or food off he goes on a quest to find the prehistoric giant telling the pilot to pick him at an agreed time but is a no show, yikes! Forget the authorities, It's up to the scientists daughter and her goofy boyfriend to take a junky looking dune buggy to mount a rescue operation, that's when the real fun starts.
