In his 2004 memoir "Gasping for Airtime: Two Years in the Trenches of Saturday Night Live", Jay Mohr reveals that the "Christopher Walken's Celebrity Psychic Friends Network" sketch was suggested and co-written by Rob Schneider after Mohr did an impression of a scene between Walken and Dennis Hopper in La Fuga (1993). It was originally scheduled to be the last sketch on the previous show, with Shannen Doherty playing Sean Young in a catsuit. But according to Jay, Doherty didn't want to mock Young and the sketch was shelved until this installment (with the part of Sean Young written out).
