Doctor Who will reportedly leave HBO Max by the end of July, with its spinoff show Torchwood looking at an earlier exit from the streamer (via Inverse). The first thirteen seasons since the 2005 revival series, i.e., from Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor to Josie Whittaker’s, were available on HBO Max, with the last two seasons with Ncuti Gatwa streaming on Disney+.

The last two seasons have reportedly received lower ratings, with the latest 15th season having a whopping 1.7 million viewers, less than season 13. Many have speculated that Disney+ might not renew the deal with BBC and that Doctor Who would not only have to look for a new home for its existing seasons, but also for its upcoming ones.

Peter Capaldi reportedly played two characters in the Doctor Who universe before he was cast as the Twelfth Doctor. Revived by Steven Moffat, the sci-fi show Doctor Who went through several actors in the role, with Capaldi taking over from Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. However, before he became the Time Lord, he was in the franchise more than once.

Capaldi reportedly played Lobus Caecilius in the fourth series of the revival, with David Tennant as the Doctor. The show also addressed how the Twelfth Doctor had Lobus’ likeness. Capaldi also played another role in the Doctor Who franchise, in the spinoff series Torchwood. He played an antagonistic character in the show.

The revived "Doctor Who" has mostly cast young (or young-ish) actors for its lead role as the Doctor. The benefit of this approach is that the young actor feels fresh to the audience; for instance, Matt Smith was almost completely unknown before being cast as the 11th Doctor, so fans didn't have any baggage from his previous roles affecting their judgment of him.

But fans having a pre-existing relationship with the new actor playing the Doctor isn't necessarily a bad thing. When Peter Capaldi was cast as the 12th Doctor, he was already known for a dozen other memorable roles, a couple of which even happened within the "Doctor Who" universe. On top of that, he had already played a doctor in "World War Z," specifically one who works for the World Health Organization. That's correct: Before Capaldi starred in "Doctor Who," he portrayed a doctor for W.H.O.

The dust is still settling from the mind-boggling Doctor Who Season 2 finale. After two years of build-up, the second season's big mystery surrounding the return of the renegade Time Lady, The Rani (Anita Dobson/Archie Panjabi), and the destruction of Earth on May 24 came to explosive, cataclysmic blows, with the solution leaving many dissatisfied. However, with 30 minutes left in the episode, a new mystery arose as it became quickly clear that Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor was about to regenerate. After saying his goodbyes, Gatwa exploded with regeneration energy, eventually turning into... Billie Piper?

The final, universe-shattering reveal left many unable to collect their jaws from the floor, let alone their thoughts. Thus, when the trailer for the brand-new spin-off series, The War Between the Land and the Sea, debuted straight after, many simply missed it. As a followup, Al Hajjaj will next star in “Ambulance,” a screwball comedy directed by British helmer Colin Teague that follows two Saudi paramedics who stumble upon a briefcase containing Saudi Arabian Riyal 2 million in Riyadh, the kingdom’s capital. Peter Capaldi portrayed the 12th Doctor in 39 episodes of Doctor Who, from 2013 to 2017. His run was a mixed bag, but fans still look back on his era with good memories. And unlike previous Doctors David Tennant and Matt Smith, Capaldi has not reprised his role for a cameo since leaving, and he doesn't really have any inclination to do so.

What Capaldi has over other Doctors is a rich history of playing other characters throughout the Whoniverse. The anticipation for Lulu’s return on General Hospital is high. After a bomb destroyed the Floating Rib restaurant in 2020, Lulu — then played by Emme Rylan — ended up in a coma. Ever since, she has been in a long-term care facility. But the meds she was given took a toll on her liver. So, she underwent a risky transplant operation. The donor, Sam, died from a heart attack while in recovery, and Lulu’s mom, Laura, has been begging her daughter to emerge from her comatose state. Lulu’s return is imminent, and we now know when Alexa Havins will officially take on the role. And it’s just around the corner.

Because Sam (Kelly Monaco) died and the hospital wants to transfer Lulu back to the care facility, Laura has been at her daughter’s side begging for her to awaken so that Sam’s death would mean something.

Just over two months since it was first announced that former “All My Children” star Alexa Havins (ex-Babe Carey) would be joining the cast of “General Hospital” as a recast Lulu Spencer, we’re finally learning when the actress will be making her return to daytime television.

In an interview published in the latest issue of TV Guide Magazine, on newsstands this week, the magazine reveals that fans will finally get to see Havins beginning with the Monday, November 18 episode.

“The writers have written some fun things,” the actress said of what viewers can expect from her character, last played by Emme Rylan. “She’s waking up from a four-year coma, so we’ve got a lot of twists and turns and we hit the ground running,” Havins added.

Exclusive: Colin Teague is signed on to direct Esaaf (working title), a debut Saudi Arabian comedy feature from local star Ibrahim Al Hajjaj and former Mbc Studios boss Peter Smith.

The film, which is currently shooting on location, follows two incompetent paramedics completely out of their depth, who unwittingly become embroiled in a kidnapping plot. It marks the debut film of Al Hajjaj’s House of Comedy and Talal Anazi’s Black Light operations. The two companies will jointly own the rights, with Smith onboard as an executive producer.

BAFTA nominee Teague is no stranger to Saudi production, having directed the Tony Jordan-penned Mbc Studios series Rashash and another big-budget Jordan drama, The Devil’s Promise two years ago. He’s known as the first person to direct episodes of Doctor Who and spin-off Torchwood and has credits for The White Queen, Being Human and Da Vinci’s Demons.
