Like Mike 2: Streetball

Totally different vibe with some similarities to the first one. Not enough basketball a bit to much dialogue otherwise great in a lot of ways like the music, characters, fairly entertaining, and kinda funny! Jascha Washington and Kel Mitchel are the best cast members. Not much else to this one pretty good for what it is though.

I haven't watched the first one, but I still managed to follow the complex plot through its many twists and turns, and the ingenious and original concept. In fact, having caught this direct-to-video sequel on television, I now feel enlightened. Seriously though... it can't just be me, can we all just agree that there are too many of these flicks? I'm not so much talking about the "underdog rises up in *insert sport here*, gets the recognition and attention he's always wanted only to learn an important lesson", I am referring to the fact that there are several based around this exact idea, the kid who wants to be a superior player finding a pair of magical shoes. Is there a deranged wizard running around somewhere, enchanting footwear wherever he goes? Honestly, what are the *odds* of this happening, and numerous times in different American cities, no less? And are they actually all about basketball? On the plus side, this has a nice amount of game footage, and it's not half bad. The jokes and gags are pretty standard, mostly silly material, including a little bit of gross-out comedy. Music is cool and usually reasonably good, too. Acting varies, typically around average. The message is fine, and its delivery is OK. Editing, cinematography and special effects have their moments. I recommend this to fans of these movies. If such exist. 5/10

Awful movie hate every minute of this crap just plain awful

I like the first movie. Heartwarming story. This one tries to do the same, but they go overkill on the "special effects". The Basketball choreography in this movie is just sad. The way the villains in this movie act is so over the top its like a movie for children around 6 years old. Its just bad all over. Most of the shots is a closeups where you see them shoot and the next fram its a video of the basket closeup where the ball is falling in. This film is just sad on almost everything except the lessons they teach us. I still has some entertainment value bcs of this. But in termst of script they went the cheap way. Its not the worst movie I have seen, but thats it.

good film but it would have been 10 times better if there was more basketball on it. and please would someone e-mail me about the music on the DVD because I've tried to get the songs from the movie by the co-stars called "boarding" and "drop squad anthem". but the movie was overall good as i said and it makes it more of a family movie as i thought the message in the movie was that you can follow your dream but your family will always be there to help and support you what ever decision you make.

P.S. would you be able to tell me if there is a soundtrack for like mike 2 coming out.
