Some people do not understand the finer points of 12 Oz. Mouse. A lot of the humor is in the delivery and is quite intangible. Some people, like Mr. Fun over there, do not see the humor in the show. Those people are not the "life of the party" and are not "enjoyable". The show is ridiculous, knows that it is ridiculous and has fun with it.
This 10 line minimum makes me furious.
The show is still good.
I'm getting bored.
Finally, minimum amount of lines achieved.
I'm going to now go have 12 beers.

What can I say? I decided to check this show out because it was the co-creator of "Aqua Teen Hunger Force", even though I after seeing a few preview clips thought "meh". Still, I had to see a whole episode and the pilot was surprisingly funny, if only for the odd and unusual brand of humor it possessed. Not every episode is great, but with the exception of "Auraphull" (HATED that episode), you'll never be bored. You'll have to accept the very slow tempo though, took a couple of episodes for me to get used to it. The dialogue is very simple and it's more often you laugh at the delivery of it rather than the lines themselves. Not very many TV-series is like that. I also like the characters, most of all the stoned cop who keeps laughing after every sentence and the rectangular guy, who you "recognize by his rectangularness". The only disappointment is that it's not as funny as its counterpart "Aqua Teen Hunger Force", though that is easily made up with a very unclear, but still continuing plot. It's not laugh-out-loud that often, but I still can't seem to help but keep myself hooked on it after every episode. And for such a goofball of a show like this, it's quite an accomplishment.

Glance at this show on the surface and what do you see? Dialogue that sounds like it was recorded during a weed session and animation that looks like it was drawn by a 4-year-old on drugs.
But dig a little further, keep your eyes and your mind open, and you'll find something deeper. The show is not 100% spontaneous nonsense. The entire series is connected in an ongoing and ever-growing story arc, with each episode picking up where the previous one left off. Such a sense of continuity and development in writing is especially uncommon for a 15-minute comedy series on Adult Swim. But it's the style of the comedy itself that really takes it over. It's expressed in a post-modern existentialist manner, a sort of Seinfeld meets David Lynch meets Home Movies hybrid.
The low-tech style of the animation, the surprising depth of the writing, and the very achievement of the execution make the show nothing short of brilliant.

12 oz. Mouse isn't really a comedy. While the first 2 episodes may make it seem as such. The show definitely goes down a road that makes it super enjoyable and strange. The show starts as a plot about an alcoholic mouse who does odd jobs for more beer. But almost immediately the show goes off the rails. It would make you think it's a generic adult swim comedy but it becomes a David Lynch Meets Home Movies like format with a story that is confusing. But don't take that as a fault. Mouse is a show built on using qualities that would make a cartoon bad but using them to improve the show in a unique way. If the show was drawn well, it wouldn't be 12 oz. Mouse. If the show was a super simple comedy it wouldn't be 12 oz. Mouse. It's an interesting watch I'd recommended to open minded viewers and people who enjoy absurdist humor. And with a new season coming out soon on July 20th. It's a good time to start watching

Personally, I like this show. I, however, can see why people could hate this. The simplicity of the "animation" and Skillet's screeching can be a bit overbearing, but this is what you pay for with a show about an alcoholic mouse.

The sad thing is, this still isn't the absolute worst show I've ever seen. This is still repulsive, though. This is EASILY among the worst garbage Cartoon Network ever pumped out. (Before you say anything, Adult Swim IS a programming block on Cartoon Network, making it's original shows Cartoon Network shows as well.)
First, THE ANIMATION. Good god, why? I think they used Microsoft Paint for it, it's THAT horrendous. And the voice acting... had even less effort put into it, if that is even possible. I mean, it sounds like the people are drunk off their a$$! (Wait, they probably are).
However, I also will look underneath that surface and at the story. Still crud. The humor.... is anti-humor at BEST. Like the office scene in the pilot. The joke was the ticking clock, which made no sense.
And the big issue besides the animation... why does it exist? It's humor fails to be... anything, really. From the voice to the animation to the "humor" (there are big awkward silences too, like they expect this awkward dialogue to bring any reaction from fans), I don't understand WHY this bile is good in the slightest.
In the end, I appreciate the story, but EVERYTHING else in the show is trash.
It's sad. If this garbage was made on the internet, people would pan it. Since it's official, though, people claim it's deep... why....
EDIT:Increased rating from 2 stars to 3.5 stars.

right off the bat I figured this show wouldn't be good but I was too lazy to change the channel so I stuck around and gave it the benefit f the doubt... boy was I mistaken. what that led to was the worst 12 minutes of my life, I tried to find any glimmer of humor in this show, I really did but this is a dry dead wasteland of comedy. I'm glad this show only lasted one season and if it comes back I'll grab my torch to send this foul beast back into the abyss. but I digress the pros to this show are... well they're... the characters are... the mouse is green, sure lets go with that. the cons? everything else! this is by far the worst show ever put on television, the animation looks like somebody made a stick figure on MS paint and crapped it out then burnt it alive and pee'd out the fires. the acting is uninspired as the actors just sluggishly say the most incoherent rubbish imaginable heres a line shark thing- "are you drunk?" mouse guy-"..............not drunk enough" then there's complete silence. seriously I'd rather watch Minoriteam than this. the music? well there's some generic metal or something in the opening then its just dead silence for the rest of the episodes. I don't give a damn if the squirrel has a machine gun, rocket car, stripper, it doesn't matter if the show isn't funny. Adult Swim seriously needs to stick to the 3rd party stuff because more than half of their own programming blows... except Home Movies, Sealab 2021, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, Venture Bros, and... thats about it. stay away from this show

At first glance, you may think this show is stupid, cheap, and overall a waste of air time. That's what I thought. Then I gave it a chance, started listening closely to the dialogue and it started to become my favorite show on Adult Swim. It was only a bonus that the plot sent us through loopholes, and us 12 Oz Mouse fans looked in the dictionary to encrypt a message we thought was there.
The dialogue and characters are all just perfected, even though there are a fairly large amount of re-accruing characters you feel like you know them all well, which isn't that common on 15 minute AS cartoon shows.
A hidden gem, if you are able to give it a chance despite it's early animation (and as you go on you realize it wouldn't fit with anything BUT that animation) you might find a new favorite show.

For any fans of David Lynch's work, you may be interested in this series. At first glance, it seems to be a random collection of absurd dialogue and bizarre characters. Anyone who can't get past this, you'll probably find it pretty dumb. There's something else here though, a very surreal air. When the episodes are watched in order, there's a very dream-like quality to it all, a loosely tied collection of characters and events that seem to be getting at something deeper, perhaps a dreamland or some alternate reality. I won't go into detail, but those who have seen it might know what i'm talking about.
Whatever the case, if surreal humor is you're thing, whether there's anything more to this or not, you'll enjoy it. I find it hilarious. And it's even better when under the influence. Definitely an exquisite show.

And that's exactly what 12 Oz. Mouse does. Most people hate it because of the animation style, which is basically children's drawings moving around on a white backdrop. Many would say that Adult Swim is getting lazy, with recent additions to its programming being the animation-slideshow style Tom Goes To The Mayor and now simplistic 12 Oz. Mouse, but honestly they don't have a lot of money, and they are producing other shows in the background. For example, here, Matt Maiellaro is working on Squidbillies AND Aqua Teen Hunger Force beside his side project 12 Oz Mouse. And for that, I think that he has put out a very intriguing and humorous show. He does all the work himself.
It is truly an individual's work, something that he's getting out of his head. Maybe you don't think it's funny, but some of us do. It's hard to understand the humor in it, but the fact that 12 Oz Mouse is so ridiculous and almost dark in its reality makes it fun to watch. Chances are this show will end with most hating it, but if you take it for what it is you might enjoy it.

I've looked around the internet and this show has been bashed too many times to count. Most people find it unfunny, confusing and poorly drawn but they are wrong. The reason for it to be poorly drawn is because you're seeing it through Fitz's prospective. The reason everyone talks in half sentences that seem to make no sense (but in often case do if you've seen all the 12 Oz Mouse episodes because one thing connects to another) is because everyone on the show is wasted. This show is only funny for people who can see its big picture and understand the type of world that Fitz lives in. So buy the ticket and take the ride, and let the weirdness fulfill you.

The authors must think they've really created something, but any person with at least half a brain would disagree.
This show would be original if there weren't any other senseless, badly drawn cartoons. The author's goal was probably to make the most senseless, worst drawn cartoon ever. So instead of 1 star out of 10, I'll put two stars, just to show that the authors have failed even at being worst of the worst. This show is just mediocre garbage.
People who watch this cartoon and say they "simply love it", are just begging for attention and trying to demonstrate how out-of-the-box they are. Whatever.
To sum it up, it's just a waste of time.

Shows like this don't come along often enough. Its so offbeat and irrelevant that you will either hate it or love it. Chronicling the adventures of Fitz the drunken, belligerent, shiftless mouse and his trusty friend Skillet (who appears to be a chinchilla), 12 Oz Mouse manages to make the most nonsensical situations into comedic gold. You never know what to expect from Fitz. The episodes have no clear cut storyline or destination. At any given time he can go from an in depth discussion about corndog farming into a 4 minute shootout with an unknown enemy. This could be followed up by a 2 minute drum solo by Skillet if need be. The only tie between any two episodes is the constant search for alcohol and the conspiracy theory surrounding Fitz and the possible kidnapping of his family. If you're looking for a show with beginning, middle and end, this ain't it. But if you're looking for punchline-less laughs, 12 Oz is where you'll find em. This is the most addictive show to hit Adult Swim since Aqua Teen Hunger Force. The crude animation style and slow pace make it a perfect compliment to the sharp design and quick delivery of ATHF. Hopefully OzMo will remain a staple of the Adult Swim lineup.

Adult Swim is notorious for producing and airing all sorts of terrible material for the sake of getting a kick out of trolling television viewers. A practice that continues years after the cessation of the broadcast of 12 oz. Mouse. That said, 12 Oz. Mouse remains particularly memorable for me as one of the worst things I have ever bothered watching.
Fans argue the show has depth and meaning and that its humor is an acquired taste....
...Color me blind for not seeing it.
Terribly animated.
Terrible voice acting.
If any of the characters had any semblance of personality (they don't) they would all possess the personality of someone who spends all of their free time smoking marijuana.
This show is about as humorous as elevator music...elevator music that isn't even played ironically. And that's pretty much the entire soundtrack with the exception of the theme song.
On a related note, I do admit that the opening theme was amazing. What followed was just total nonsense.

The first time I saw this cartoon was episode 1, and I had no idea what I what I was getting myself into - I had never seen the show before.
I'm not a big cartoon person, but my cable company had it on their shows that you could pick from and watch... I found this cartoon under comedy, and cried I was laughing so hard... It's comedy is very subtle and a lot of it's humor is in its timing. This was one of the funniest things I have seen in a very long time.
I will definitely seek out more episodes. And it's just as funny the second or third time that you see it.
The show itself is very primitive cartoon figures with quirky personalities, with story lines that make you go "huh? Did he just do what I think he did?" and laughing your a** off. I really think it's just one of those things you have to see for yourself - and if you have a dry sense of humor, you'll really like it. It's probably a love it or hate it type of cartoon.

.....I don't even know where to begin...Let me try here: THIS SHOW IS SHOCKINGLY LAZY WITH A CAPITAL L! The quality of the design truly looks like it was done by a 4 year old if even that! If that wasn't bad enough, the animation is so stiff and choppy that virtually anyone in the world could've done it!
The writing is filled with...nothingness! The writing is sheer nothingness!!! It lacks in everything! There's things in it that..I THINK are supposed to be jokes? I'm not sure.
You'd think this show was a made as a joke, but it wasn't! It was a legitimate show made as legitimate content! There's nothing redeeming about this show! I swear this show was made by 2 people: 2 drunk interns on their 1st day with no experience or talent in animation nor writing at all other than grade school!
