This is a great starter for those who are interested in K-drama, or looking for a light, romance-comedy drama.. It's about this girl, Ji-Eun, an aspiring script-writer, who inherited this house named Full House(also the title of the drama) from her parents. Later, her friends cheated her and sold her house while she was having a vacation in China. During her vacation she met this superstar, Young-Jae who coincidently the one whom Ji-Eun's friends sold her house to. It'll later get all complicated and leads to a marriage contract between them. Ji-Eun will then falls for Young-Jae who's in love with his childhood friend, Hae-Won who is in love with their other friend, Min-Hyuk who likes Ji-Eun. It looks kinda complicated, but it's quite easy to understand, really... A two-thumbs up for this K-drama, mainly because of the chemistry between the two main leads, Rain and Song Hye Kyo as Young-Jae and Ji-Eun. A word of caution to those who are new to k-dramas... This will definitely hook you to other k-dramas, and you'll be left to wanting more k-dramas.. You have been warned.... (^^)
this movie is really a romantic one.. rain act as leeyoungjae in the show.. he is an actor.. who is quite stubborn, proud, and like to shout at the others.. but he is also a caring and cute man.. but he hide those personalities.. he was too afraid to show it..
song hyekyo make a change in this movie.. she always act as a weak girl in her pass movie.. and in this movie she act as a sweet, cute, sunshine, brave, and adorable girl.. and i think the quarrel between rain and song hye kyo make this movie interesting.. when i first saw this movie and laugh a lot.. but when the movie is approaching the end , i cry a lot.. it is a interesting and a touching movie... i love rain since i watch this movie..
try to but it and enjoy the every part of the movie p.s.:i started to learn and to love Korea since i watch this movie.. this movie really changed my life... and i also learned the cute song about three bear since i watch this movie..
just watch it and u will love it.. a romantic story happen between a strange girl and a star.. and the chemical reaction really happen.. just like Cinderella and the handsome prince..
i just love it..

First of all this drama is very old. I first watched it when I was in school, a decade ago. When I watched it recently again, I realized the drama can be a bit outdated for the current audience. However, this is STILL a must watch for all new kdrama fans.
The story is simple. The cast is perfect. The main couple is adorable. The comedy is hilarious. Song Hyekyo is the cutest (plus she sings the OST), and Rain is HOT AF!
It's a light watch. There aren't major twists or mysteries involved. It's simply about two idiotic people with big attitudes who are unable to communicate their love in a proper way.
Just watch it! You'd see what I mean.

Though I am an avid Korean film fan (mostly horror and action flicks the likes of Arahan, The Host, and the lovely My Sassy Girl), I have never watched its TV series because they tend to be too long and complicated. Full House (as well as other Korean TV series) became a hit in our country a few years back. I didn't mind it because I already have a big respect and fondness for its film industry.
What got me interested was the young pop idol Rain. After watching his documentary on Discovery channel, and being interested in his skills as a performer (not to mention he's so cute), I started looking for his first TV series because of the good reviews. So I got the complete 20 episodes of Full House. What started off as an interesting journey became marked with sleepless nights (trying to finish at least 3-5 episodes a day), laughter and giggles, sentimental sniffles, excitement, anxiety, you name it.
The story revolves around four main characters. A crazy but beautiful writer girl who owns a house and nothing more, and was duped by friends who sold her house without her knowledge; a movie actor (Rain) who buys the house and treats her like a maid in exchange for a place to stay; a fashion designer who is the superstar's best friend and secret love; and a rich, handsome producer who is interested in the writer girl. Eventually, the first two couple engage in a "business marriage contract" for publicity, while the last two tries to break them apart.
Granted, the show has its flaws in the script. Sometimes, actions tend to be exaggerated. I'd get confused and frustrated with the leading lady's inability to leave Rain when she is totally mistreated. The fashion designer lacks the charm to sweep both men off their feet and is portrayed as a weak character despite her successful career. The other leading man is totally gorgeous and I sometimes wish the writer ends up with him instead. The superstar is quite a bit infuriating with his childish, sneaky ways, his tantrums, his inability to acknowledge love, and his stubborn, rude ways. But when you see him shed a tear in pain, arrrgh. There goes my heart. I believe that's what the writer girl felt too. We just couldn't leave him alone.
Other flaws in the script? There are no violent kissing scenes. Not that I am complaining. From the very start, the show sweeps you off your feet with the development of each character, from the moment they all meet and weave in and out of each others' lives, and eventually becoming more involved with one another. It was one hell of a ride in the senses, to the very end when you would have wanted them to be more passionate physically.
Add to that other characters: the writer's two scheming friends who conned her; the superstar's mom, dad, grandma and levelheaded boss...all have interesting quirks that add to the spice of this romantic comedy.
I may be harping too much about this and leave you disappointed if you watch it. Well, if you're Asian like me, you will most likely relate to it more than the Westerners, who will see this as a bore (staying together in a house with such an explosive chemistry and nothing is ever happening will most likely raise your brows).
I do like the show, though, and it's two thumbs up for me, simply because it draws so much emotion from me (just as it did My Sassy Girl where the odd couple really made me laugh and cry in ways I didn't expect), and it leaves me wanting more. Well, I also did want it to end soon and happily.
I still hesitate to watch another Korean TV series (it drains the hell out of me trying to complete the show in one viewing). I will still prefer watching the movies. But for once, Full House has left me happy and dreaming, and craving for the innocent romance of younger days.

After managing to see probably some 15-20 South Korean feature films produced between 1999 to 2005, I took the recommendation of the kind staff at my local Korean grocery store to check out the more popular TV series. Starring the rather lovely Song Hye-kyo, playing an internet novelist and the curiously monikered Rain as a wildly popular young movie star, on the one hand it's a good example of the quirky mix of slapstick comedy interspersed with rather sobering moments of heartbreak and frustration experienced by the characters. The surprising fact is that the first episode follows a similar plot line to House of Sand and Fog, which certainly wasn't a comedy and was absolutely full of despair. Girl inherits lovely house on the coast from parents, struggles financially, circumstances lead to her losing most of her possessions and having her home sold off underneath her feet, new owner has little sympathy at first. That's fortunately where the comparison ends! Plenty of moments of Song Hye-kyo screwing her face up in disgust by some awkward thing she's said or done, and Rain (wearing his rather strange low cut male-cleavage shirts) glancing into the ether whilst biting his lip do eventually lead to a building relationship between a very odd couple. Words can not describe how huge a hit this series was in much of Asia, so from even from this not so Asian reviewer, Full House holds a charming appeal.
