Definitely delivers on what it promises. It's called 13 lakes... and it contained exactly 13 lakes. 10/10.
"13 Lakes" might just be the worst movie ever made. Imagine staring at a lake for ten minutes straight-now repeat that twelve more times with zero story, dialogue, music, or any sign of life. That's literally the whole movie. Each scene is just a static shot of water, and nothing happens. There's no plot, no emotion, no purpose. It's as if someone accidentally filmed their screen saver and called it "art." This film could bore a rock to tears. If you're looking for entertainment, 13 Lakes is the ultimate endurance test and might just make you never want to see water again.

This film is highly recommended for painters, Buddhists and zen meditators. It is NOT for general audiences. There is no story, no camera movement, just 13 beautifully composed shots of lakes over a ten minute period, most with sound-I'd guess recorded at the time of shooting. It's certainly an an unusual experience -and one which I found quite rewarding- to see how much a body of water can change in a short period of time. This was a deeply contemplative experience, probably not one easily replicated at home with all the daily distractions around. I loved it and would happily see more work by this artist. Not for everyone, though.
