I must say... I have already watched some funimation episodes here on Portuguese TV and all that I can tell most is that, unfortunately, funimation's version is a no good for this kind of anime. Many of the voices are wrongly chosen some of them make too much noise between the words themselves. Some sound jokes are lost in the dubs. Nice try funimation but, for this anime, I prefer, among many others anime fans who tried this with subs, subs.
This is a great comedy. Good anime comedy is becoming rare so treasure every good comedy out there as much as we can! This anime picks up the idea of the super power aliens with super advanced technology and places them in a really hilarious situation where they are completely powerless and cannot take over the world. Strongly recommended for the comedy lovers.

I am a strange person in that I am post-40 and still enjoy cartoons as much as when I was a kid. One of the more recent cartoons I have particularly enjoyed is the totally bizarre and seemingly pointless INVADER ZIM. Unfortunately, the show was just too weird and edgy for Nickelodeon and it was quickly canceled, though it has a very strong cult following. Apart from one season of shows, though, there just isn't much ZIM out there. And in light of this, I am strongly recommending Keroro gunsô (Sgt. Frog). The show is very, very similar in so many ways. BOTH star a totally inept short little guy who comes to Earth to dominate and conquer us for their empires and both are so hopelessly inept that they haven't a prayer! The only major difference is that Sgt. Frog isn't quite as bizarre or high energy. Instead of insanely over-the-top action like ZIM, Sgt. Frog is a slower paced and sweeter character--a lot more cuddly and cute than ZIM. Plus, for all you GIR lovers (he's ZIM'S robot helper), there isn't a corresponding character in Keroro gunsô. For this reason, I like this series a little less, but still recommend you give it a try.
You know, I don't really watch anime. Just Plain weird stuff happens in them. I mean, I still love anime, but wow, the things Japanese rating systems get away with... Wow.. But when I do watch anime, I watch Sgt. Frog. Now I've never read the manga, or watched the Japanese version, but I've heard they were awesome. I just watch the dub, and I got to give credit where credit is due. This dub is awesome! Every Pop-Culture reference, every memorable character, even the voice acting, great! I just love watching the dub, and I've seen every episode, and I love it. I got introduced to the aspect of Keroro Gunso by a series of YouTube videos, Little did I know, a year and a half later, I'd find it on Netflix and watch every episode. I love the show, and if you don't I'm fine with it.
My score - 8.5 out of 10. Some flaws, but otherwise, a great introduction to anime.

In sixth grade I was a big anime fan, but I grew out of it and moved back to comic books. While I'm slowly regaining my interest in anime again, while balancing my love for American comics, I go for the not-so well know franchises. Either they are underrated or they do have a big fan base, but not as big as the heavy hitters such as Naruto or Bleach. And I'll be reviewing Sgt.Frog. Now I love both the anime and the manga although I think the manga is superior then again that's me.
Me personally my favorite two characters have to be Dororo and Koyuki. They are fun, interesting, and they are freakin ninjas! I love the other characters such as Angol Mois, Kululu, Tamama, Momoka, and many more. I think one of the strongest points that this show has is its pop culture references. Yes I am a sucker for pop culture references, if they are done right. And this show is spot on with it. They made fun of DBZ, Gundams, Street Fighter, and many more. You have to see it to understand it. I really can't much in words. All have to say is you might like it and I actually recommend the English dub.

Keroro Gunso (known as Sgt.Frog in the US) is the story of an alien sent to Earth with the job of conquering it. Sgt.Keroro is his name and he bears a strange resemblance to a frog. He is captured by the Hinata Family and is forced to be their friends, not to mention do the chores. Keroro meets up with his platoon and begins to scheme up plenty of plans to capture Pokopen (Earth), which fail most of the time! He is obsessed with Gundam models and they are the fruits of his labor. The frogs have ton of hilarious adventures along the way. This anime is full of humor, action, and plenty of pop culture references! Check out the manga too! 9/10
