Bin Badal Barsaat

After watching the movie, I think that there should be a type "reincarnation" in your genre section. It is because the story of the movie revolves around reincarnation of Prabhat (Biswajeet) and Reshma (Nishi). Howerver, commenting about the movie, I will say that the movie was good to watch for one time. It cannot be rated as above average but if you have not watched it, at least watch it for one time. You will not feel bored. The music was not out standing but O.K. In fact I did not like the music while watching the movie. The acting was good. The dialogues were also good. The picturisation was also nice in the green hills of Himachal Pradesh (although the movie was Black & White). Mehmood, as a comedian did a very good job. The best thing of the movie was its script. The script is basically what is shown in the movie. So, the script was very good.

This is the story of Prabhat(Biswajeet) and Sandhya(Asha Parekh). There is a curse for Prabhat's family that whenever a mal marries, his wife will die in a mysterious circumtances. But Sandhya still want to marry him. Soon there is a gypsy girl Reshma(Nishi) who comes and changes the story and then the story turns toward black magic.

The story is simple, black magic and reincarnation is involved. Yet the storytelling is somewhat efficient. You will not be bored but end up actually enjoying the movie.

Biswajeet is charming as always, in full command of his performance and he actually wins you over. Asha Parekh looks so beautiful and delivers a great performance, though there was not very much for her to deliver.

And not to forget Mehmood. His presence and all the scenes where he is in frame is fun to watch.

Music is soulful, not the best but Hemant Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar ensures you get all the melody.

There is enough of Magic & Black Magic in this movie but let's take it just as a story which has been nicely converted into a movie. It does have loopholes but lives to its expectations. Vishwajeet seems to be good for horror & suspense genre, after Kohraa & Bees Saal Baad. Asha Parekh looks good and delivers reasonable performance. Mehmood provides some very good comic sequences together with Padma Chavan. Hemant Kumar's music is simply the best with songs; 1) Ek Baar Zara Phir kehdo, 2) Zindagi Kitani Khoobsurat Hai, 3) Jab Jaag Uthe Armaan To, 4) Khushi Bhi Mili Humko, 5) Bin Badal barsaat Na Hogi, 6) Dil Mein Teri Yaad Sanam and 7) Mareez-e-Ishq Hun Ae Janeman. You can watch it if you want, you will like it.
