Trama

Berk, a blue plasticine creature, lives as a servant to the unseen "Thing Upstairs" in an ancient castle. Every time the trap door opens, a new adventure begins for Berk and his pals, the skull Boni and the spider Drutt.

A series focusing on the monsters living in an isolated castle and the caverns beneath it, within unspecified "dark and nasty regions" of the world. The main character is Berk, the overworked servant of "the thing upstairs" who is the castle's owner. The owner is an unseen character who isolates himself in the attic of the castle. He merely shouts orders to Berk, and regularly demands food. Berk habitually leaves the castle's trap door open, inevitably allowing bothersome creatures from the caverns to enter the castle. Some are genuinely hostile to the residents of the castle, others are friendly but irritating.—Dimos I

Berk is a friendly blue creature living in a a castle, home to The Thing Upstairs, the mysterious and unseen owner of the castle who never leaves his room who Berk serves his meals made from living creatures and does jobs for him. Also living in the castle are: Boni, a talking skull who is Berk's best friend, Drut, Berk's pet spider, Rogg, a gigantic pink monster and Bubo, a cheeky small yellow creature who ofter annoys Berk. Berk loves cooking in the Kitchen and would get cheery unless he The Thing Upstairs gives him a hard time. Berk's curiosity about The Trap Door where The Thing Upstairs lives, which is forbidden and Berk always leaves open, Berk encounters strange creatures from The Trap Door and Boni would join Berk in his everyday adventures.—Daniel Williamson
