I was 12 when I saw this film on cassette and the scene where mukesh rishi plucks out siddique's eye gave me sleepless nights at that time. War and love is a big torture filled with senseless violence, cheap melodrama, tacky production values and over jingoism which would pit Indian army into shame. Kaalapaani was also disturbing watch because of its violence and bloodshed. But it was technically brilliant which made it one of the best Malayalam films. Here a below average director like Vinayan fails big time. He deserved to be banned for making such an atrocious film. All of the actors die except dileep.
