Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost

I thought this movie was absolutely terrible. The whole story revolves around a TV that is brought to some Godforsaken village and is making hooligans out of the people. Ok, I thought it was rather pathetic how the TV is the protagonist of the film. Lara Dutta is just ruining her career, which went off to a decent start with Andaaz, by choosing to act in a film like this. Abhishek just lost a lot of his credibility that he regained with lots of effort in Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon. Hopefully, he'll win it back in Kuch Naa Kaho. Anyone who watches this movie will feel like their intelligence is being insulted. The Saiyaan song is the only good part of the movie.

It's not an epic, all time blockbuster type, but I'm sure it will entertain you enough.

Just a comedy movie, don't expect much from it. Abhishek has done good job, side characters are great.

There were lot of expectations from this film and all went down the drain as every moment of the movie I saw. Expectations reaches sky high because Apoorva Lakhia, assistant director of Lagaan an epic movie would atleast make a good effort for his debut film as a director. This was not true, film was a complete waste of time of its viewers. There was no story, Abhishek was shaky on most of the sequences, he still needs to work on his acting. It wasn't abhishek or Lakhia who ruined the movie. In the whole movie had a weak topic tell a story on supported by a weak screenplay. 80 to 70 percent of the movie was about villagers sitting in front of a tv set and acting like a primates. This is not believable for me because i live in 2003 in a culture where technology is very advanced. Lakhia really tried to give it a lagaan look and even in its songs he tried to give it a Lagaan kind of feel but the maker terribly failed in all aspects of making a film good. I wouldn't say that film wouldn't be better if somebody else was directing or if Vivek Oberoi or Hrithik Roshan was playing abhishek's part because in reality the fault lies in the subject, the story. A 25 minute story subject was dragged and dragged for 3 hours and even as a viewer one can tell that the story teller himself is running oout of stuff to show. In all I thought this was Abhishek's turning point, but it was a big disappointment, in the story as well as in abhishek's acting, even though he shares some expressions with his dad but his dad atleast makes it believable and enjoyable. My only recommendation for this movie is Please don't watch it!!!
