Martin Nievera is credited with naming the Filipino variety show "ASAP". He suggested the acronym "ASAP" as a working title while in a rush, meaning "as soon as possible", and it stuck. The show's creators then had to decide what the acronym would stand for, with "All-Star Sunday Afternoon Party" eventually becoming the official name.
