One of my favorite games on the PS2 ever. I have been a big fan of the Metal gear solid series ever since I played the First game back in 1999 as a child. I have gone out of my way to play every game in the series and most of them are great with a only a few being meh. MGS3 is easily my favorite game in the series and is in my top 5 games of all time. MGS1 was an awesome game and to this date it's my favorite PS1 game but This game was always the one I was most emotionally attached to. The gameplay is great and the controls are better then the first games. There's more to do in the game with more optional ways to take down enemies etc. The storyline is soo good and epic, The main character Big Boss is amazing. He felt more human then Solid Snake did and is also a badass. The games graphics, music, cutscenes, voice acting and ending are awesome too. The replay value in this game is also really high with the different outfits, face paints, bonus items, boss modes, and snake vs monkey which is a cool mini game that's based on the Ape Escape games. Overall this is the best game in the series for me since it's also a prequel to the entire Metal gear solid storyline and it being less cutscene heavy then the other games in the series. If you are newcomer I would jump straight to this game since you'll be able to follow the story more easily. this game is fantastic and should be played by every human being on the Planet. Hideo Kojima I salute you!
There is no debating that this is one of the greatest games ever made. In my opinion, it is the best of the best. I've lost count of how many times I've beaten it. Every time I play it, I discover something new about the game play or story. It is one of those games that you can never really get tired of.
Everything about this game is incredible. The graphics, game play and enemy AI have been improved since Metal Gear Solid 2. The plot, however, is still similar to the rest of the series. From the beginning, you really feel emotionally connected with the main characters. As you play along, you fight several bosses, all of them very memorable (especially The End and The Boss). The plot goes at a perfect pace and is very compelling. I won't spoil the ending, but it has one of the most unexpected twists I've ever seen in any form of entertainment. There are twists and turns all the way through, even AFTER the credits.
The game's musical score really makes the cut scenes more emotional and the game play more enjoyable. The soundtrack is definitely something you won't want to miss.
All in all, THIS GAME ROCKS!! 10/10 If you haven't played it, or any other games in the series, you are truly missing out.

The game itself is like watching a James Bond movie...
This game has it all. Hideo Kojima has once again impressed me and as well as the other millions of people who have played his Metal Gear games. It has turned into a complete franchise. This is probably the best Metal Gear Solid game I've ever played, although I was a little disappointed about the camera overhead view, but I can understand why it was used as a specific perspective for this particular game.
Hideo is a pure genius when it comes to "Tactical Espionage Action". "Snake Eater" has the most Cinematic cut-scenes, challenging gameplay, unique storytelling, unbelievable plot twists, and as always little Easter eggs scattered around this game that you can't even describe. Simply, this game just boggles the mind. There is so much you can do. You can basically do anything in MGS 3 SE has to offer such as eating, taking good care of yourself, its just endless, From this day, I am still playing it, and from what I've played so far I can't get my hands off of it.
Btw, there is a bunch of classic moments, so much 1960's related reference, and also some James Bond movie creation reminiscent to this game it's just INSANE!!! I'm wondering why Hideo hasn't directed a Metal Gear Solid movie himself. =) Wait what am I saying? This is a movie itself! More like an interactive movie with flawless execution! =D My final words to this game is just simply a "masterpiece of a work of art."

MG 1 and 2 were good, mgs was great, mgs 2 was also good, but this game is truly the best one in the series... I really love the style it's presented in, even the endless cut-scenes that the mgs games are know for, are interesting all the time... I REALLY enjoyed playing through it, the new cameo system is also great, it makes it more tactical and stealthy...
the only little thing I think wasn't all that good was the healing wounds, I mean it's great at first, but going into the menu to heal yourself 10-20 times during a boss fight is quite boring and repetitive but everything else about it is just great, the story is exceptional and Naked Snake is a great character.
I truly recommend it!

Hideo Kojima never ceases to amaze me, besides the fact that Snake (A.K.A Big Boss) looks amazingly like Kurt Russell from "Escape From New York" in this game, the characters look and feel more realistic than anything ever attempted with video games. Since video games where invented they have been shrugged off by the other media's as inferior and childish, I have a feeling that that time is quickly coming to an end.
This game's story line had me more intrigued than I've been with any movie in a long time. The Music is spot on, the voice overs are flawless, the cinematics and action rival that of most modern films, and Yoji Shinkawa's art work is fresh and inventive. Kojima really has mastered the technique of "playing a movie" with this one.
The only real caution i can give is that the violence can get intense in area's, and the game play may be a little to in depth for newer gamers.
But if your ready to put some time and effort into it, this game is nothing short of the perfect experience.

- TriviaAfter the release of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (2001), Hideo Kojima said that he would not direct this game. He wanted a member of his team at Konami to replace him, but none of them wanted to, so he was forced to change his mind and direct after all.

Major Zero: 007 is the biggest thing to come out of England since the Mayflower. I wouldn't be surprised if they made 20 more of those movies.
