    Powerful, moving.

This movie does its best to be accurate, and it does a pretty good job. If you're looking for fuel for a conspiracy theory, it isn't here. The film captures the essence of the man who now sits in the Oval Office, and how he and his team worked to deal with the tragedies of the WTC, the plane hijackings, and the Pentagon.

It is a powerful film. Be prepared to be moved.

The film serves to remind the viewers of the combined tragedies, and the impact on our national psyche. If you have somehow dozed off to the implications of 9/11, this film might serve to wake you up.

By the end of the film, if you don't feel the surge of love for your country and the compassion and pride that goes with it, perhaps you need to check your partisanship at the door. When we were attacked on Sept. 11, 2001, the terrorists didn't target just Democrats, or just Republicans. They weren't even targeting just Americans. The World Trade Center was a financial icon for the world, and was as multi-ethnic and multi-national as any single building besides the U.N. headquarters can be. No, the WTC attack on 9/11 was an indication that the attacks previously focused on the United States had just been expanded against all Western nations, and by extension - on Christians, Jews, Muslims who do business with them, and on all non-Muslims. It was a renewed declaration of war, and this film portrays the leaders who helped us through the tragedy as a nation, and as a result - it focuses around the one man who did the most to comfort a grieving nation.

    Propaganda at it's worst

recently everyone is complaining about Fahrenheit 9-11

DC 9-11 is the total opposite of it but at least Michael Moore used real footage for his Documentary

DC 9-11 is a hodgepodge of real and made up footage which slyly switches from one to the other

an uninformed person might actually think Timothy Bottoms was GW

    that John Cunningham was Rummy

    that Penny Johnson was Connie

my god GW came off as the biggest Hero since John Wayne

I suggest anyone watching the movie keep a Barf Bag beside the popcorn unless of course ya think that GW is a fine pResident and a true Hero in that case enjoy

Finally, A Movie About 9/11 That Tells The Truth!

Thank God for Lionel Chetwynd, because it means there is at least one filmmaker in Hollywood with enough sanity to deviate from the radical garbage of Michael Moore and his documented lies to just tell the truth about what happened on 9/11, which shows the courageous and effective response of our national leaders to the greatest tragedy in American history.

Liberals who want to carp about a film that dares to show a positive depiction of President Bush have been pampered for years with fawning (and often not always accurate) portrayals of Democrat presidents in action (see the well-done "Missiles Of October" and the awful "Thirteen Days" for instance) that it speaks volumes to their general sense of intolerance to throw fits over a film that dares to show a positive depiction of a Republican president in action.

But unlike liberal movies with their indulgence for hate-filled conspiracy rhetoric about conservatives and Republicans, there are no cheap shots thrown at Democrat politicians in this film. Sure, we hear talk about "changes in policy" but there are no direct digs at Bill Clinton which Chetwynd easily could have done. The intent, like "The Missiles Of October", is to recreate how our leaders acted in a time of crisis, and in that respect he succeeds brilliantly just like "The Missiles Of October" did for the Cuban Missile Crisis.

The performances are outstanding. Timothy Bottoms nails W. down perfectly as do the rest of the cast (although I didn't think Lawrence Pressman quite got Dick Cheney). It's enough to make you at times think you're listening in on the real events as they unfolded.

Bravo Lionel Chetwynd for providing people who understand the facts about 9/11 and President Bush for giving us a welcome antidote to the mountains of filth from the likes of Michael Moore and other self-hating Americans.

    Laughable

I find it very interesting that for what will probably be one of the only films made of president Bush. The person they get to play him was the same one that played him on a show that made fun of him. The performances are adequate and situations laughable. This film looks like it was written and directed by Karl Rove. George W Bush is portrayed as Alexander the Great. A fearless leader who is all knowing and who had no fear. Every situation regardless if it matches his expertise or experience he is shown as being all knowing. He has all the answers and is never wrong. Since it has always appeared to me and others that Bush is a manifactored President they make him appear as if he created everything instead of who he is. Even though I believe that there is some truths in this it still comes off as bad storytelling. Plus the guy who plays Rumsfeld comes off as being to Gung HO! 5 out of 10

    American Propaganda

If you are an arrogant American "we are the best" head-in-the-sand redneck who can not accept that the American government has been involved in funding and training terrorists for decades and is, at least, partly responsible for what has happened, you are going to love this film.

For the rest of us we just have to stand back in awe at the stupidity of the people who believe this to be true and unbiased.

9-11 has produced a raft of films and documentaries..

The John Pilger documentaries http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0683400/ are really hard hitting asking challenging questions about the whole middle east issue.

The documentary by Micheal Ruppert is equally outlandish in it's claims around 9-11 as this film (only in the other direction) and just about as true.

Probably the most verifiyable information comes from Noam Chomsky http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0159008/ Distorted Morality http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361959/combined provides a deluge of facts to support clear arguments around the issues. However facts are pretty boring, the film is footage of university lectures, shot with one camera from one place and it is really hard work to watch, but probably the one film that is most reliable in terms of facts. The Power and the Terror http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338357/combined is more palatable if you can't face the heavy style of Distorted Morality

Moore produced a film that got attention, I don't think it has the best facts, the best arguments but it was well made and well promoted.

Balance is a key to understanding, all these films need to be questioned and it is good and healthy that we question them. But you need to have seen a variety from across the board to really get a feel for what the truth might be.

John Cunningham, who portrays Donald Rumsfeld, actually attended Yale University with Rumsfeld.
    • Errores
Bush and several others pronounce "PEOC" (which stands for "Presidential Emergency Operations Centre") as "P-E-O-C-" every time, it's usually pronounced as one word (acronym) rather than as individual letters (initialism).
