Pieces of papers with text glued on kitchen door changing pattern during film. For whole time in multiple shots there is missing piece of paper in bottom right corner except only once in middle of movie, when Tomoe surprised returned Seibei in his own home.

When Iinuma talking with Seibei outside while soldiers drilling shooting from rifles, Iinuma clothes contain mon (emblem) of second Sho clan ruled the Ryukyu Kingdom. Ryukyu Kingdom is placed over few islands in south of Japan (Okinawa prefecture of today), while movie story is about people living in Unasaka/Yamagata prefecture, which is placed on opposite part of Japan - north-western.

While Seibei fighting with Toyotaro, Toyotaro katana fell on the ground, right beside Seibei. Toyotaro fell towards river and Seibei make step forward towards Toyotaro, so the katana clearly should stay behind Seibei, beyond possibility to reach by Toyotaro. But from different camera can be seen that katana lay between both of them, 2 meters ahead of Seibei. It's most likely intentional arrangement by director, otherwise Toyotaro wouldn't be able to made his last attempt to grab katana.

When Tozaemon (Uncle) come to scold Seibei for being unbathed and smelly, insect cages lying on the floor beside his left arm are on one row. In next shot cages are top of each other in two rows, even Tozaemon neither anybody else touch them.
