Cook Gale Henry and butler Milton Sims are arguing in the kitchen about who would make the best detective, until the lady of the house comes in to see about the delay in dinner and fires them both. Freed from their domestic duties, they are at liberty to become detectives.

Which, of course, they do ineptly. Several of the later Joker comedies from Universal have been popping up recently, thanks to fans who have been buying prints from the Library of Congress and posting them online. They are fast, disgusting and very amusing. Miss Henry would go on to have a sizable career through the end of silent movies, then largely retire, although she was always ready to appear in a Charley Chase comedy. Instead, she and her husband raised and trained movie dogs, like Terry, who appeared in THE WIZARD OF OZ as Toto.
