This follow-up to "That Was The Week That Was" differed from its predecessor by offering extended discussions on current topics between invited guests as well as sharply satirical sketches and songs. It gave host David Frost a chance to develop his skills as an interviewer and paved the way to his future international career as a talk-show host. The show went out, not just on Saturday nights like "TW3", but on Fridays and Sundays as well - hence the title. However, it was generally held to be a poor successor to the ground-breaking earlier show and lasted just one season.
Roy Hudd recalled being panic-stricken during one performance when his autocue failed. Not knowing the words of the song he was meant to perform, he pratfalled around instead. This earned him a frosty reaction the following day from composers Herbert Kretzmer and David Lee.
