Daava

Daava released in 1997 starring akshay kumar, directed by sunil agnihotri is an average action thriller. Storyline could have been better because the plot consisted of the rule given by britishers : divide and rule. The main aspect of mahabharat kurukshetra war, rift between brothers, is an important aspect of daava's script. But that issue is treated and directed in a simple way. Much importance is not given. It seems as if it's a simple issue which can easily be solved. Instead focus has been shifted to unnecessary songs, dance, actions and deliberately introducing innumerable villain characters. The script could only have full focus on nasser, akshay kr, akshay anand, mother and mohan joshi and raveena. And then the rift could have been created. Focus should have been on strong script, dialogues with deep meaning and acting. Mohan joshi's character instead of a don could have been portrayed as a simple common man with grey shaded mind who's expert in creating rift. The whole story could have happened inside the house.

But anyway, as far as this script is concerned direction, action, music, dance, performances are average.

Definitely, veteran naseeruddin shah is as usual impressive.

A one time watch.

I am surprised why so many people voted so poorly for this film as I personally felt this was a great action adventure film starring Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon. Naseeruddin Shah, as always, had a commanding role throughout the film. Overall a fantastic film and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Akshay Kumar films as well as a pretty good filmy kick-ass storyline.

Film is about 3 brothers and how one brother being murdered by a group of underworld gangsters results in the remaining 2 brothers taking revenge. The background music is very good and atmospheric. I can think of Sunil Shetty being another actor who would have played an excellent role in such a film. Highly recommended film. A++

Daava a typical 90's Bollywood action Movie, with bad action scenes.

Not even one scene is close to being Well done.

Right from the guns sounding as toys, to the editing, and stunts. Not to mention Logic.

First of all We know that a hero dont need backup as a cop, But dude went from being a simple cop to doing speciel army assignements.

And the ones being the army guys act Nothing like it.

Second is a speciel ops Unit ( the indian version ) and these guys doing a stealth mission But the urge of yelling out the bad guys name loud and long enough to give him time to duck, so the combat Can begin. Is beyond stupid

The crying cop makes No sense and is not comedy But torture.

Story Line is very basic and Nothing new.

N. Shah is to old for his part.

Akshay was just a wimpy cop Unkown brotha was okey.

The mother was the same age as her OLdest son N. Shah.

Raveena was stupid and eye candy like every Movie back Then.

The villains did a Pretty decent job.

The informer Girl was okey-Ish. But to Young for her dancing male partner.

I didnt listen to the songs so cant rate Them.

If it's running on tv and you are bored to death it Will do. But dont ever Put it on yourself.
