I am sure the writer and director had good intentions. This short film is about a car ride in Los Angeles, California. There is a lot going on but unexplained. I didn't get the purpose of the film itself. Most short films are done by film students for their film projects. This film goes fast and makes little sense. I don't get the purpose of the story about young people in a car cruising the freeways in Los Angeles, California. Perhaps the film is about life in the fast lane one night. I watched this film on a DVD entitled "American Breakdown" with other short films about life in America. The film is about fifteen minutes and makes no sense to me when it is over.
I can't imagine someone one this planet who couldn't relate, more so experience the gravity of what this picture displays.
To me this is without doubt one of the best summaries of the raw emotion society trains us to ignore, handing out more gas to throw on the fire. I can't say I truly understand, or know the depths of the meaning. Even still for every time I've watched this, it's an understatement to say it's just motivating. Very impressive the amount of information Member guides you through and the vivid detail hitting the struggles and burning desires we have as humans on the mark. The sarcasm beautifully laced throughout this film is mind blowing and worth every minute to witness. An overall refreshing experience. For this being a short film the amount of time everything was encapsulated into Member I walk away feeling like I just got out of church :D ENJOY

This "alleged" short goes on forever. It is pretentious and boring. I cannot possibly understand why anyone who has half a brain would sit through a second helping of this leering edsel.
This is the kind of short film made by a man who loves himself too much.

I saw this short film at the "Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival" in Birmingham, AL. I didn't go out of my way to see it or anything, but came accross it accidently. I was very pleased I did, though. Being a Josh Hartnett fan, it was incredible to see some of his earlier work. The film in itself is wonderful. The speed, colors, and story were great. A short film about a crazy teen trying to figure out the perfect insurance scam left me in awe. I recommend this film to everyone who enjoys "out of the ordinary" moives.
This cornucopia of visual and aural delights by first-time filmmaker Brooks astounds. After over a dozen viewings, the texture and layering of this intense and surreal film continue to reveal themselves to me -- something new and exciting with every viewing. The mastery of the writer/director is perfectly matched by the presence and pitch performance of the spellbinding Hartnett, who shows clearly why he has ascended the Hollywood hierarchy with such rapid aplomb and astuteness. The angst and pain of the entitled and alienated Gen-Y character, embelmatic of his generation (give me more, give it to me now, "let me be desired by") strikes an exposed nerve with a surgeon's touch, conveying the voice of the Napster generation with one deft swipe. There is a new voice in modern cinema. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
