Even though I feel that drunken pillaging Vikings as the basis for a children's show is a bit of a weird choice, I guess it can work as a way to make the titular child stand out in his much healthier approach to solving problems. While everyone around Vicky will be prone to use brawn over brains, his way always works best!
Aside from that, the show has the coolest look. Each frame is an art masterpiece!

As I saw recently a 3D version of this tale of a young Viking boy, son of a leader named Alvar, made me remember of the original series.
Was well dubbed in Quebec by French-Canadian comedians like Ronald France, Flora Balzano (Vic), Jean-Louis Millette, Julien Bessette, Benoit Marleau and others (the former "Mont-Royal Synchro"), this dynamic dubbing crew did respect the freshness and wackiness of this motley crew of Vikings, always saved by the intelligence of Vic. Though his friends called him a coward due to his fear of wolves, he has admiration from his girlfriend and the tribe itself. Even "Sven the Terrible" was out casted by the boy's sudden flash ideas.
Well, great memories from childhood. Get on the drakkar for a load of fun.

Wickie on TV was my generations "must see" on weekdays. Not only did the series kidnap us to great adventures, it also showed how to solve problems without the use of force. Being also really funny in places, I only can recommend Wickie to all future generations - it beats today's p.c. kid's series by miles!
Such a great to series that brings back nostalgia. I watched it as a kid in the 2000s and 2010s even though it came out in 1975, because it was always shown on KIKA in the evening. I loved Wickie, because he is very smart and doesn't have to be strong to be the hero.
I remember watching this with my friend in the late 80's. I didn't realise it was from the 70's.
I'm now 43 and I can still remember the name of this cartoon so it obviously made an impression. Unfortunately I have never seen it on tv since then so it's obviously been lost to time. This is a shame but it was nice to be a part of it and grow up watching it. I think it was on a Saturday morning along with He-man. Some cartoons are a little twee or corny but this had great heart. I would love to show my two kids cartoons like this but they seem well and truly lost. It's like they die with the previous generation. Bit sad. Great memories.
